That was ok, the pickup's lane was ending and he gunned it to make sure he didn't run out of pavement.
If you'd have stayed right, they could have passed slower as the lane ending would have been your problem

Well when he bounces off your bumper and you have it caught on dashcam, he's SOL anyways.

Just FYI, the police, insurance, and lawyers are going to look at the WHOLE situation. What led up to the couple seconds of idiocy. You could be at fault for causing the situation. He crossed double yellow as a result. But I'm no Trooper or lawyer...

    That sounds like Twinkie Defense.

"Your honor, scottie was going the exact speed limit so therefore my client had no choice but to break the speed limit law and traffic laws regarding illegality of crossing double yellow lines so we move to file charges against scottie for going the speed limit; he is a menace to true truckers who you know are above any arbitrary traffic law which is meant for 4wheelers."

Okay, man. I'm just telling you how it is. I've seen cases go through to court that were similar to this when I worked as a Private Investigator in Texas.

I'm glad the situation didn't end badly for ya.

    Have a nice day! :D

Traffic laws don't change much, and when they do the old ones don't necessarily get erased, and because of that, (if they wanted to) lawyers can find any laws that are still on the books (even if they are 50years old) and use them to fry your ### in court. Don't believe me, ask any lawyer!
