so what are the options for those driver's that can't install a power inverter, microwave, refrigerator etc etc ?

for those that can, how often are the appliances replaced or repaired?

Fair enough. I don't doubt that the FDA or any other government agency is corrupt and hiding things for profit. Microwaves run on radio waves though. A high powered CB in your truck probably does your body more harm than a couple of minutes reheating food in a microwave. Just be careful "researching" things on the internet. There is a profit motive for the people who post stuff there as well and its paid on a per click basis so the more sensational the better. The link I posted was Harvard Medical School. That's a pretty credible source.

Yes I am aware of how bad soda is for you and I do partake of an occasional soft drink at loves. I generally drink the tea or water, mostly water. I keep a gallon jug of water next to me and try to drink one every 2 days going down the road. I start my day with a 32 oz coffee each morning. I am 59 years old and take no medicine other than Aleve for the occasional ache and pain. I am of the belief that less is more when it comes to medication. The human body is amazing at healing itself if we allow it to. Big Pharma wants you to believe otherwise.

I just posted a new thread telling what I just put in my crock pot. I barely broke $25 and will eat all week VERY good. A crock pot at Walmart is really cheap and will pay for itself the 1st time you use it. But don't waste your time with a small one. A medium sized one is what I have. You need to have at least a 1000 watt inverter to run it and those are a little over $100. I got my 3000 wat inverter at a Flying J for around $300+-. And you'll need either a plug-in cooler big enough to hold the food. Both the unit cooked and leftovers. A big igloo cooler runs about $120. But trust me. This stuff will all pay for itself within 2 weeks. Here's pics of what I just bought 30 mins ago. 2016-08-28 13.27.30.jpg 2016-08-28 13.26.54.jpg 2016-08-28 13.26.10.jpg 2016-08-28 12.39.02.jpg

My groceries for this week. A massive chuck roast, 2 japaleno, 1 red bell pepper, 2 med onions, 2 bundles of asparagus. $25.66.
I already had my spices like kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder and I keep garlic on hand. The equipment as far as the crock pot, inverter, cooler or fridge? The inverter is the biggest expense from $100-$400. The equipment prices just depends on what you go after.

But another example of eating good and REALLY cheap? A 1 pound bag of beans, a ham hock, minced onions, black pepper and water? You just spent $10 or less for 4 days of eating. Leaving room to add other stuff with it.
