    I googled axle shackles,it says once they become rusted they should be replaced.There's all different kinds and none look too safe to hold a trailer.Was your load salvageable?

    Glad your alright driver. Mechanical failures do happen and I'm glad you are unharmed. Sounds like you won't have a problem finding another company to drive for. I'd recommend an outfit with good equipment.

    Yea thought it was on the truck drive axles, patty j said trailer. Never seen shackles on driver, lots of older silage trailers used shackles.
