How to get wioa?

OK because it's different offices in CT and a lot of people go to the wrong place. Looks like you are where you need to be.
I just got all my paperwork in to my career coach, he said he will review my essay and I am meeting with him again Monday. They only give the grants once every 2 months; I already missed one deadline; I'm really hoping he does his job and gets everything filed correctly so I can start school in October.
I also just applied for a package handler job at fedex ground so I can make some money in the meantime for the dmv fees and so I have something in the bank when I start my career, also going to request a free copy of my current back ground check so I'll know exactly what to put for my criminal history when finding a driving job.

 

An update on mine, the Case Worker called, have an appointment for the 26th. I was told since I am unemployed and a Veteran I get priority funding. I will let you know what happens, but this is like the military, hurry up and wait in line.

 

I would wait it out. When the Case Worker called me I asked what would happen if during my WOIA Training they were paying for, I found another job at my old occupation. She said I should make arrangements to finish the training, get my certificate and my CDL and call it a day. Once the funds are allocated, if you don't use them, they loose them, they do not go back into the available funds for others.

 

MOST DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT OFFICES WILL POINT YOU IN THE DIRECTION. SOME DO IT THERE OR AT A LOCAL COLLEGE!

 

I just thought I would update with WOIA. They rescheduled my appointment from yesterday to today. I show up all bright eyes and bushy tailed, fill out a Vet form, an I have been unemployed form, had to list at least 12 places I have applied and not hired, and was told it looks good. I was then told I need to keep looking for work, for at least 1 more month, and I have to see a Veterans counselor tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, the guy next to me at the orientation walks out before me, he was approved. Get this, he is working, and has been, he just wants to something other than Arby's.

 

They have different ones..it varies to your age, where you live etc..
