Dac is way over rated. The problem with them is, in my opinion, is that none of their reports are challenged. Companies put stuff on them and nothing is proven. As a company owner now, I have to verify or attempt to verify employment. I have to have a MVR on all drivers. I do not need a DAC. DAC allows a company to be lazy, but the information there is worthless.
X-Country Thanks this. -

If they verify your employment, then it doesn’t matter. I’m sure there are tax records. It doesn’t matter. You have that experience.

How I check to see if a company uses DAC:
1. Try to find their printer friendly application. Usually you can do this by Googling "[company name] application pdf"
2. Usually, the last page is for background check forms. The DAC one sometimes has its own page, and will say something about USIS or HireRight. You can also search through the page using Crtl+F and then in the box, type "USIS" or "HireRight".
3. If it says that, then the company will check your DAC. If nothing comes up, it probably doesn't. But it might still be worth it to call the recruiter and ask them if they have any additional background check forms, and have them email them to you. Some companies have you sign the DAC later on, separate from the rest of the application. -
I'd be caring to guess that just about every long haul that can be filled out online. Uses DAC.
Not sure on the locals. I've never applied for Flying J or Maverick or something like that. Every time I look in to them they never have an opening in my area.
