Hope all is going well with your Prime tanker journey so far. Ended up taking a local job with a company called North American Composites. So far so good, hopefully it lasts. These guys don't really seem big on having there own trucks. Was talk about JB Hunt coming in and running the transportation aspect of the business. That happens I'm out. Hourly job for now. Safe travels my friend.

Hello guys/gals. I have a quick question for some of you who are somewhat familiar with the prime training. I am currently just finishing my PSD training in the reefer division. I test this Tuesday. My trainer got me done in 2.5 weeks with 85 drive hours. I have some interest in driving in the tanker division as a company driver and doing my TNT training phase in that division. Do any of you fine folks know if that's a possibility? Any information you can provide is most appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help

Last I heard was that you needed a year OTR experience to pull tankers. I'm understanding that just out if PSD is Reefer and Flatbed. That may have changed and I haven't heard yet but you may want to check in it.

No year required per Prime. Just have to get the 10K miles in during TNT with a trainer. I will be heading out to TNT within the next couple weeks and then switch over to tanker with 10K left. Excited about the opportunity :)

    Charlami Thanks this.

Hey pharroh no im no longer with them. It was a good experience though i was discharge for having 2 back 2 back backing accidents within 3 days. It was really no excuse. I guess i was fed up with them keeping me up the northeast in the tankers side & not letting me get no miles. I only ran the tri state area that's it & VT, NH & MA. I didn't even get to go no where else hardly. And i complain to the fleet manager austin about it. That fool didn't want to listen. But when he was gone for the day. I would get great miles from the ones that was covering his board to the Midwest like in IL, KY, etc. But when i got him back he kept me on the bull crap runs.

Sorry to hear that. I can't blame you though. Your not making @#$* for money when your only runnin. new England. Probably loading out of Newark, NJ to boot. Know how you feel about crappy runs. I run Long Island every Tuesday.

With the amount of congestion in the New England states there's no fast way to get anywhere either. Don't sweat it. Plenty of companies need drivers up your way. If you don't mind running a hand truck, try Sysco in Jersey City. Home every night. I did it out of Philadelphia for 8 years. Youngs mans work. Left 2 years ago. Made my money and calledn it a day.

Thanks & im with WEL. im doing this reefer with them for the time being. I want to go back tankers. I want to try out Venezua. They have a perfect account i like that's regional. 49cpm loaded & empty. $22 for loading & unloading & $22 a hour for detention & they trucks can do the speed limit at 70 & they home mostly weekends. They have a $5K sign on bonus. So im planning by next month or probably later on to do that account so i can be with my daughter a lot more then now.

Heard good things about WEL. Venezia I think it depends what division your in. Some division's are better than others applied to them a couple years ago. Didn't sound like it paid that well. I know Schneider national has tanker terminal in Kearney. Pay is decent. Training is top notch. There's a thread on here from a guy that worked for Schneider bulk and now works for Trimac. Pretty good information. I think they are advertising home weekend's also. Good luck with whatever you choose. Safe travels.
