After securing this container yesterday, I'm sore n exhausted, but feel great! I love the hard work of being a solo flatbedder! It's very rewarding pulling into the customer with the load you secured.

I have not had that pleasure yet. So for it has been plastic pipe and this load of wire trays. Pretty flimsy load, dented some edges with my straps. I had rubber guards under my straps to prvenet them from being cut. I didn't think about the edges of the racks bending:biggrin_2552:

Ya, got to watch out for that. These A/C units are fragile too. Havent had the plastic pipe yet, had the metal pipe though. I like the loads I can bear down on, get um nice n secure.

on my first "coil" load. 3 coils 41600 lbs. Actually got to chain and tarp indoors. Delivered to a cunstruction site in Oh yesterday. Drivers are not allowed out of the truck? Even though I had a hard hat, vest and steel toed boots, I didn't have their 6 hour safety course. So I watch in my mirrors, occationally I would open the door and stand on the steps. They removed all the straps and tarps. Bad part, when they were done sorta folded/rolled the tarps and threw them on the trailer along with straps, padding.... I was then told to proceed to the gate where I coulld stow my stuff. Well there was no where to spread my tarps. Ended up going to a truck stop about a mile away and refold all 3 tarps!

I would think if you can pass the dot physical that prime gives you and you have no disabilities that will keep you from doing the job you should not have a problem doing flats. To make sure check with your recruiter, or FM. Good luck.
