yeah, I dont see it happening on the flatbed side, but possibly with the guys on the Reefer, because of the lightweights. At least thats what im thinking they(Prime) are thinking.

Even the lightweights aren't going to hit 8mpg. Sorry. 55, Appalachia, loaded w/ 43k, it was in the mid 7s. He gets over 8 and sometimes 9 if he's empty.

You can hit 8 fairly consistantly - but, it takes wide singles that are fuel efficient not the XDNs they are putting on company trucks, the newer trailers with wide singles, AND a lot of driver technique. Don't plan on it happening in the mountains, cold weather - and with a 2xxxx-series trailer, especially with drive tires on it.

I was getting 7.6 earlier, til I hit the hills in Missouri. I'm loaded to about the max, 79160 with half a fuel load. Anything over half a fuel load puts me over 80,000. Thank you Georgia Pacific....

Well, finished up orientation today, They said there were no flatbed trainers available, so they had to stick me in a reefer. I asked them to give me an hour or so before it was final. So I went out and found myself a Flatbed trainer on my own. He is an instructor right now, but looking for a TNT for the winter months. So after his PSD student tests out in the morning we have a load going to SLC, drop time of noon on Tuesday.
