I'll be joining you for Orientation on the 24th, best of luck to you!
Congrats! Y'all should start a thread when you get going.

I see everyone is so happy, hope yall do well. Just to let you know hope not to rain on yall parade but I did the training with Prime and left because of the type of truck your going to get if you be a company driver. Lightweights that don't have any room, its basically like being in a coffin. If you lease then you get a condo.
As for me its about being comfortable if I'm going to be out there for at least a month. Prime is a good company but there the only company who gives coffin trucks to company drivers but they do boost the pay up for having those trucks. To me its not just about the money I want to be comfortable while I'm out there living on the road for a month.

Just a lil heads up and good luck to you guys.

Did you end up leasing just to get out of the lightweight truck? Is it 100% guaranteed that you'll end up in a lightweight truck, or is it still kind of luck of the draw and what they have available when you go out on your own? The lightweight trucks were the only downside I could come up with for working at Prime. Being 6'6 I'm not terribly excited about that small of a truck but oh well, it's much better than some of the alternatives.

No I went to another company. That's is Prime policy, lightweights are for the company drivers and the condos are for leasing and team drivers. That was the only problem I had with Prime, other than that they are a good company. They didn't tell me they truck assignment while in orientation. Forgot one thing with that, that's only with the reefer side. If you go flatbed or tanker then you get condo but they told me all the newbees start out as reefer.

I even told my dispatcher that my wife wanted to travel with me and he still told me the same thing. I said two people can't live in one of those trucks.
But hey by you being 6'6 they should put you in a condo. That would be insane to put you in one of those trucks.

Nope, but I'd imagine that when I'm out with a mentor, it won't be in a lightweight truck (I hope)
