    Heading to Prime 08/13/2012

Ok so I guess this is happening! I got the final ok from my recruiter today and I'm suppose to be at Prime to start training this Monday, because this class has to be split into two groups for physicals/drug test. I'm hoping my blood pressure stays under control. I have been checking it at home and it's right near the top of the 130/90 at the end of the day and is like 119/80 when I wake up. I'm going to just rent a car to head up, but does anyone know if there is parking at the Prime terminal for drivers cars? Like if I wanted to drive my own car and just leave it there while I was on the road? I will say one thing, it's hard getting everything you need in one duffle bag that weighs under 50 pounds. I was only able to bring like seven days worth. I hope there's A lot of chances to wash clothes on the road! Well, I guess this journey begins.

Congrats on coming to Prime! Just finishing orientation today. Lots of truck stops have washers and dryers and there are some here at the hotel. As far as parking there is a lot at the terminal you can park at if there is room. Just have to ask your dispatcher and they should let you know. Make sure you have your bp low don't smoke or drink any caffeine that will raise it. They will give you another chance if it is high.

    Good luck

    Brian

Getting all the loose ends at home tied up today. Print resume, directions, letter from recruiter. I'm having to leave my dog at home for right now, so I'm getting my sister to come house sit while I'm out training. It was like $175 just to rent a car, not including gas, but I can't do the bus. I'm 6'8" tall and 340lb and just not built for bus travel. The only nerves I have is the physical and getting a trainer that at least showers weekly. Lol.

The campus inn has a gated parking lot that you can park your car.

For long term parking Prime has parking at the Millenium complex, its behind maintence. Can't speak for other drivers but I do clothes once a week, or more if I get into a terminal.

Good luck in training, remember it is a Job interview for the next 4 weeks. Don't be late for ANYTHING.

I was able to pick up my rental car yesterday but only ended up with about four hours of sleep. I set out at 5am and rolled into the Springfield airport at 430p. Not too bad for 700 miles. Made it to campus inn and got checked in. I'm rooming with a former trainer who is coming back to the company, so that is pretty cool. Ive got to get thru all this paperwork and pray to Jesus my bp stays controlled. Lol. I was told there are 163 students in this class. That's why they are taking us in two groups to get thru physicals. I was told there are still about forty from the last class waiting for trainers to come up. I might be here longer than one week. Maybe not.

Good job making it!! Youll miss that speed lol Could be longer. All depends on how many instructors come in this week to get a student.
