Can anyone confirm this about the wait time? I'm applying this week and I'm hoping to start the first week of November. Thatd really be a bummer if I have to wait much longer.

Decided to just call a recruiter to ask that question. Asked if I applied tonight if I could get to Springfield in the beginning of November. Was told "possibly". Was told there is an instructor shortage and beginning of November would be the very earliest.

I wasn't exactly sure what "possibly" meant. I'm kind of thinking right now that "possibly" meant if I had a clean driving and criminal record, great employment history, and exuded a will to be a professional driver for the company, that I could finagle my way in to early November.

Possibly LOL I would just get everything in order and get in as soon as they will tale you. If your resigning from another job this could be a good thing to allow no stone unturned

I will be at orientation on November 3rd, 2014 I got approved on August 28th so yeah the wait time is long... currently just doing some low pay parttime jobs.

Can anyone tell me after orientation when you will be back home? Trying to give a time frame to the wife... and my kids...

I can't confirm but I'm sure someone will but as far as what I've heard it can be anywhere between 6-8 weeks depending on where you live and your trainer

Thats a tricky question. My own experience was whenever my trainer decided to take some hometime. While I'm sure it's not normal, my trainer didn't go home for over 3 months!!

After orientation is the PSD phase.,student driver( out with an instructor ) then you test out and get CDL in hand . Then you go out on TNT phase. ( like driving teams) you could (depending on a lot of things ) could (probably won't be do long) spend as much as 4 months in training all together . You could luck out and get some home time during TNT phase ( I did during Christmas) .

Oh wow that long? Phew okay, glad I asked. So I guess I need the sleeping bag and boots all prepared... Looks like I'll be carring a huge luggage bag... like those you use at the airport. Or is it not? lol
