I have a little information on Sleep Apnea and the CPAP. Others might chime in for more details.
If you are over a certain BMI index (body fat), have a neck over a certain size (I think 17 inches) or admit to snoring regularly you will be required to take a sleep study. This does cost money, but will be billed and taken out of your checks once you are hired.
ChuckTalyor posted that it is $55/week. Is the payments. If you pass it's 55+55+40.
If you fail and get issued a machine it's 55x36 weeks (give or take a week as its hard to recall)
If you are diagnosed with sleep apnea you are required to use the CPAP machine regularly, and failure to do so will get you sent home or fired. I have heard a few guys say that the CPAP has drastically changed their quality of life by providing very restful sleep. i have heard others cry about using it. You know what they say about opinions, but this is the bottom line...... -
SPECIAL NOTE TO ILLINOIS RESIDENTS!!!
It would be in your best interest to get your CDL permit in IL. It would also be in your best interest to be sure to take your CDL hands on in IL as well. Most PSD instructors should know this, and should be willing to take you there to test.
If you test at Prime SpriMo you will have to go back to your state and retake ALL of the tests all over again. This means all of the tests for your regular license, the CDL permit written tests, and the CDL hands on tests in Illinois. They don't play well with the rest of us states, and my last TnT student fell into this situation. It is much easier to just get everything done in your home state.
Not sure if Massachusetts is like this: Anyone???? Buehler????Rollr4872, DocMarten, Skydivedavec and 3 others Thank this. -
Let's talk about trainers. What do you do if you get one that makes you concerned for your personal safety and health, their safety and the reputation of PRIME inc.? Who do we call? What do we do? Are there some general procedures and policies to follow? What is QC? What is an FM? What role does "Security" play in some of the scenarios.
