Hey all, just got off the phone and booked my orientation start date for the 28th in Pittston. I've been lurking about for a little while and read all the posts once I decided to go with Prime. I noticed an over abundance of info on SpriMo/reefer/flatbed, but not a whole lot on tanker and Pittston. I aim to change that if everything goes as planned.
So the 28th I start in PA with a freshly printed Jersey (yeah, I know) CDL in my pocket. I hope to update regularly and shed a little light on the happenings in NE regional tanker. If there is anyone else heading to Pittston, in Pittston, in NE regional, pulling a tanker, or considering any of the above feel free to chime in.
I don't really care about post hijacks as long as the info is accurate and beneficial to others. That being said, all trolls, naysayers, keyboard kowboys, multimedia mafia types, and bored drama queens, take it elsewhere. I don't need someone who has thrice removed tales of horror that happened to the uncles nephew of someones brother that you met at a truckstop one time.... for 3 minutes. I noticed a lot of people on here say things just to push the buttons of IP, ES, ORD, U2 (even though he retired)... I ask you respectfully to leave this post be so we can share some productive information without it turning into a contest.
Thanks and I look forward to getting my feet wet! Lets see where this goes!

Off to an excellent start. Test date was cancelled, which means that my start date will be ???? Lane isn't going to be happy to hear that!

Well, I got good news. Road test scheduled for the 16th and I start on the 28th. Anyone lurking here have any info about Pittston??

What do u wanna know? My company Calex is up there too. I know the Prime terminal is a lot nicer than our place.

Hey cowman, I was just looking for a little info on the training up there. I'll be there in a few weeks and wouldn't mind hearing from someone who was a noob there before. Always good to hear that its a decent terminal. I hope Calex is treating you well despite their terminal.
silenteagle Thanks this. -

cableguy9508 and silenteagle Thank this. -
I have no info about Pittston. It is a new terminal, very nice. you will be staying at a hotel near by. As far as what you will encounter..... ?????? I would imagine you will go through the interview and physical process like springfield, but beyond that.... ???
Anyone..... Buehler??????cableguy9508 Thanks this. -
Pittston only does experienced driver and recent non-Prime CDL graduate orientation. Any Prime trainee can do their upgrade to A seat there too.
Its been a while but I witnessed them doing it the old fashion way, cones set up on the trailer pad for upgrade skills test. Not sure about a road test.
Experienced drivers with questionable experience can be put through the upgrade tests if safety dept is on the fence. It's usually the guys hired with the minimum required experience. If the driver has a problem with the upgrade test, they are given a choice of doing some training miles or not being hired.
I've talked to a few guys who were given a week or two with a NE trainer rather than a specified set of miles before getting their trucks.
The majority of experienced hires don't go through the test and get their trucks at the end of orientation.
They stopped using the Motel 8 around the corner. I hear the new one is nicer but further away. Shuttle has limited schedule.cableguy9508 Thanks this.
