I asked dispatch about it this morning... they told me they were located in IL, IN and TN. ??? I guess we'll all find out when there's a press release. Same deal for us... a long haul into one of these places obligates us to run a local store load. GRRR! I really detest that part.

What "sales wants," and reality are quite often two different things. Remember that the first time you're double-booked on a load, and last to show up!

That's what I get for running freight, and not chilling at the terminal!

    Don't you mean "were?"

Just talked to a Swift driver out of Moberly, MO tonight at a Walmart. He said they kept it.

If you take a Walmart load to a store, you will be going back to a DC. All loads are delivered on Walmart vans and reefers. Doesn't mean you wont take an OTR load in and then Prime holds you hostage there for a week or so running loads. I know we do that from time to time with our OTR guys.

There will be about 150 or so drivers and trucks dedicated to each DC. At least this is how it's always been with Schneider, Swift, Werner, England, US Xpress, and Greatwide. Don't know what sort of deal Prime has yet.

Couldn't ask for much of an easier gig. Pick up a loaded trailer, go to a store, open door and pick stickers off pallets and put on paperwork as store associates unload them, close door and repeat at next store. When all stops are done, take empty back to DC or go get a back haul and take back to DC.

I think it would be better under Prime. Having been on both sides of the Prime/Schneider fence, I think Prime cares about their drivers more and treats them better.

Be that as it may, when the big "P" takes over, the guys on the OTR side will get Shanghai'd for at least one local round before we can bust loose. You can have the local stuff, I think it blows myself.
