I don't need credit for the loadlocks, just want to get replaced at sprimo for the ones I left in the trailer in indiana. The ones I had to pay for are still in the rack on the truck. Have not used them yet.

Your gonna have to get credited for the locks, cause they sure will charge you for them at the inbound bay. They're not gonna care what happened to the load locks, or just take your word and give you 2 for free without charging your next paycheck. If your lucky they might explain that you have to get with your fleet manager about reimbursement.

Its all gonna have to be worked out with your fleet manager. If done right, your paycheck will credit you 2 load locks, and then charge you for 2. $70 (2 locks) minus $70 is $0.

Sorry just re read this. You can't get credited for load locks you didn't pay for. That's stealing. You can collect all the locks you want, but they will charge you for any ratchet load lock you replace, and if you try to get reimbursed for extra locks you didn't pay for, you might get in trouble. If you paid for two, you should only be reimbursed for those two.

BTW, lever locks are worthless in Prime eyes. When it comes to money, they won't pay or reimburse for anything but ratchet style. So if you swap loads with someone, make sure if you give them a load with two ratchet you get 2 ratchet back. If you get levers they need to charge him and reimburse you.

im pretty sure if the bay has any lever kind on the extra rack they'll let you take one or two. If they have them. You are still required to have two ratchet style.

I'll just use the 2 I have until I can run across some on the road, unless sprimo has the lever loadlocks, I can grab 2 of those for free. Btw, when I decide to leave prime, I will get reimbursed for the 2 loadlocks I paid for right? I know it wont be the full price I paid, but as long as I get something for them, because it will be of no use to me to take them home.

I always just picked up a couple of used Lever Load locks at outbound if I needed them. They have a full rack of them there and were giving them away at the time. As far as the rachet type being required, I never noticed, but I normally had 4 lever type on my truck and no ratchet types, and no one ever said anything.

It's required that you have them. Make sure you check your macro 19 data... some of our shippers require that you have certain numbers of ratchet load locks or you can't load.

You should get reimbursed for your two ratchet when you quit.

And IP is right, load picked up from the Bensalem yard come to mind about ratchet locks. Local driver picks up the loads using the ratchet style left by previous drivers with their empties. You leave two, you get 2 with your load.

there are others, I just can't recall specific places.

Yeah, well ol' Local Larry and I aren't on too good terms. I've been getting lever locks, and crud that barely works. I've started taking pictures of what's in those Bensalem loads when I open up at the receivers. I've forgotten where I picked up at... somewhere in the Midwest required 2 ratchet style locks.

Thanks for the response. After I left st. joseph, mo. I headed to pickup a 2 stopper then 90 load that was already late cause I had to reset my 14hr clock leaving from the 90 to go to t/s and tried to get good enough sleep to be ready to run 11hrs. After I got to the 01 in schuyler, ne., then ran as far as I could, but I had to stop and take a nap; a 2hr nap, only had 4hrs left to drive and drove till I got back to t/s in st. joseph. My fm was not happy at all. Repowered my load at that t/s and i repower his load going to Newport, mn. made it to Newport 30min. before appt. time of 1400 today. Now I have a load from Lakeville, mn. to champaign, il. for sunday nite at 2300.

After I delivered to champaign, il., went to pickup next load in Bloomington, il. Load was not ready, so I came back to pilot to take 10hr break until today. I will call to see if shipper is ready to load me before starting my clock for nothing.
