The bus is currently sitting on the shoulder of I-80 about 7 miles outside of Laramie, WY for last 2 hours with exhaust issues. We got people that suddenly turned into mechanics, others ######## and complaining and others just going with the flow. Thankfully I fall into the latter group.

I'll bet there is more going on then meets the eye if CRST dude didn't get calls back from anyone else. Hope it works out for him. -
Uhh... Hope they get it worked out and you get on your way again soon. Nothing like hurry up and wait. -
If there is any way anyone can afford to fly out and be reimbursed DO IT! A school bus took us from the side of I-80 to the next stop which was a motel after 3 1/2 hours. They didn't supply a room, just pizza and water. We hung-out in the lobby for 4 1/2 hours until a bus from Denver picked us up and we are currently on our way to Denver.
I'm more than a little concerned since looking at the greyhound schedule, the earliest we can get into Springfield is 6:50 Monday morning. We are supposed to start classes Monday.
There is one other guy on the bus on his way to Prime training. What is Prime going to do? Send us back? Put us up in the campus inn for a week and have us start next week? -

I was told they would reimburse .10/mi which came out to $193, but the plane ticket from Portland to Springfield would have been $445 plus $50 for shuttle from salem to Portland or $350 from Portland to Branson plus $50 shuttle from salem to Portland and $100 shuttle from Branson to Springfield. Either way would have been looking at $300 out of pocket not including the $100 they require, $50 for Missouri DMV and surviving 3-4 weeks. Although that doesn't sound so bad about now.
Best case I'll get to Springfield at 6:50 tomorrow morning which means we'll be getting to the campus 30 minutes after orientation starts and not have the paperwork everyone else gets the day before to fill out. Of course the recruiters aren't in on Sundays so talked to someone at the campus in and a fleet manager and both said they hadn't had a situation like that but just to get here when we can.
They are routing us from Denver to Amarillo to Oklahoma City to Springfield. -

Talked to a couple old time truckers on the bus, one seemed to be a pretty decent guy that's been driving 22 years, the other is a know it all; I won't even mention the smelly fat **** we nicknamed butt crack for obvious reasons. They all said that Prime's training was a joke and disaster waiting to happen; that training should not happen under loads. I'm all for learning from the people that have been there and done that, but in this regard; Prime is training me not them, Prime is paying me not them, Prime is taking responsibility for the actions of their trainees not them and finally Prime's training has successfully trained thousands of drivers, not them. Like I used to tell my students, that's the time to just say "OK" and walk away.

We've had an unusual number of rollovers and jacknifes this year. They analyzed the numbers. More than 75% were veteran drivers was stated in the safety meeting last week.
Even drivers here at Prime are quick to speculate it's the newbies that are causing the wrecksjomar68 Thanks this.
