Yes I have been calculating true mpg. With that being said it is only 1/10 off of the truck mpg indicator and the qualcom. I've put about 2500 on it and I'm at 8.5 as of this evening.

Running with a tailwind, 'n downhill all day, eh?

The only way to be sure is to run the numbers manually, and compare what the ECM is claiming to them. Most drivers don't have a clue what fuel economy their truck is really achieving, and some answer like, "It's about 7.4 mostly," isn't an answer to that. It's a guess.

    bobbybaldwin....

How's that KW going for you? Hope all's going well.

If you are able from time to time, would be very interested in seeing how your performance #'s are going as you progress. Have an interest in those KW's and would like to see some real world results.

    Peace :biggrin_25519:

Enter your fuel tickets and mileage, and it keeps track of your fuel economy. Great graphics, and you'll have your 30, 60, 90 and truck's lifetime fuel average calculated and displayed. Lots of other information you can enter as well to learn how your truck responds to various conditions.

Well where to start lol. First off I am a member of the OOIDA (Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Assn). If you really want to know how far down the rabbit hole the "fleece purchase" program goes give them a call.

The real lure the company's use is that they put some driver up on a stage and claimed "LOOK HE HAS HIS OWN TRUCK!." The truth be known the companies will give selected drivers the proper logistics, money, backing and loads they need. In this fashion the company can parade the "selected few" driver(s) around and claim that the fleece purchase works. You have probably seen these drivers on the cover several trucking magazines lol. Understand that this is nothing more that an advertisement.

Lets review: The truck is not yours!!! It will never be yours!! Dont fool yourself or try to convince yourself that the truck is yours. IT IS NOT!!! If you understand and accept this you might have a chance at really getting your own truck someday.

Learn the business, make a business plan, save some money for a good down payment and get your own truck. Once again the OOIDA has great resources and are well schooled. Dont listen to some desk jockey who is trying to get a commission on luring you into a fleece purchase.

If you are still not convinced ask to take a copy the Fleece purchase contract to an attorney/CPA specializing in trucking. That is providing the company will let you walk out of their offices with a copy of an unsigned contract LOL. . Odds are your gonna get an earful from your lawyer once you show him the contract.

It is understandable and admirable that people want to have their own truck and make their own way. But do it the right way! Dont get so blinded by company fairy tales and lollipop dreams that you are swooned into signing a contract that you will regret.

Last but not least I have a decent amount of money saved up, finance all checked out, I have done my homework, got advice from the OOIDA and other drivers that "really own their own truck" and I am ready to get me a rig within the next 8 months. I it is mine and I can take it where I will.

    Peace!

Howbout when companies get drivers up on stage and say so and so has successfully completed there 3rd lease and they all clap. Then present so and so with the lease payout check on stage and clap again in an effort to show us what type of behavior from us is rewardable. All the while im thinking what a huge failure so and so to have had to endure 3 leases and still not own a truck.

I feel bad for you. I really do..and I am not being sarcastic. The companies that do "fleece purchase" put on one hell of a dog and pony show to the drivers to bait them in this money making "business venture." They even take their show on the road in the form of advertisements and scripted "advertisement" articles in many trucking magazines. Its not the trucking magazines fault....they are just merely selling advertisement space. Its up for the driver to decide. I actually sat down with a friend of mine who is a attorney/CPA and he reviewed a "fleece purchase" contract with me. I dont have the time to get into all the specifics. I will put it like this so all will understand....I would rather pour jet fuel on my head, light it on fire and then beat the flames out with a 10 pound sledge hammer than do a fleece purchase.

Unfortunately some people just cannot handle the truth. Some drivers get all starry eyed and have dreams and fantasize of having their very own shiny truck with an endless supply of cash for the taking. This is called "mental masturbation." The reality is that it is just not gonna happen.

Now for the good news for you. Due to the downturn of the economy a few years ago there are many good used trucks available for purchase. Get together a decent business plan, arrange for financing for the truck and go for it. The OOIDA is an excellent resource and has tons of information.
