There is a thread on here about a driver who is in a flatbed lease with them. His thread is South Central Flatbed L/O by DanfromWindsor. You might want to check it out and he may be able to answer some of your questions.

If you cant afford to buy the truck outright then stay a company driver. lease programs are horrible. If prime starts treating you poorly or doesn't give you enough miles, you cant just take the truck to another company. If you buy outright or are a company driver, you can jump ship when ever you want.

There are a lot of folks who do just fine with Prime's lease program. However, it must be run like a business, and one must be on top of their game in order to make it profitable. Any new driver considering starting a business that must be run efficiently in order to be profitable should consider that brand new drivers are anything but efficient in terms of operating a CMV. Spend a couple of years on the company side to see if you even like being a truck driver, and gain the knowledge that will make you a successful trucking businessman.
