I think on top of what you are saying is that alot of the instructors are cash focused now and they are jamming them through without the thought of quality. They just want whatever bonus they can get. We would have much better testing results if they would sometimes just do the right thing and tell the boss and the student that the student might consider another occupation. I just had a guy with me for 12 days and I am sending him home. He just isn't going to be good enough, I can probably get him throught the tests but in the long run he will be a problem on the road and for Prime, So away he goes. Some of these folks need to forget the cash and make the occasional "hard decision" . But that is good info Chuck

From the TNT side my first two trainers I thought would do really well. The first did his 40,000 miles and went in to upgrade and instead he quit. The second one ended up rolling his truck in his first month solo (he was not hurt) and we all can guess how that ended up for him. The first trainee I don't feel he quit because of the training he got. The second one has me wondering if I missed something that may have prevented him from rolling his truck.

Not your fault, He knew if the truck went to fast it would flip. I had one that kept going into turns too fast and I had to scream at him, He said
"the truck can make it" I said "yes it can, but the trailer can't". He finally got the message, has been running on his own for over a year now.

last time I was in terminal I picked up a requirements sheet. you have to have 8 months exp to be tnt trainer and 12 months for cdl instructor. also have to have below 18cpm fuel cost and 100% on time loads and no accidents
