1) Reefer. Always have work.
2) PSDs get a weekly advance for food, which is recouped when you start earning. TNTs get a guarantee of $500 to $600 based on circumstance, that's 10 cpm or 12 cpm based on a 5000 mile week. You get whichever is greater.
3) Yes, as a company driver.
4) Reefer. You always have work, and the wheels are usually turning.
5) Your best times are spring and summer months for reefer, because of produce season, though there are accounts which always have us moving.MrIT Thanks this. -

1. If you were to start over at prime today, which division would you choose and why? I would go with reefer again because everyone has to eat!
2. I am slightly confused on the pay while in training. Can you nice folks explain it a little further so I dont have to dig through hundreds of posts? Answered above and correctly
3. Do you get paid the same amount empty and bobtail? Yes, all dispatched miles.
4. Would you recommend a new company driver to go tanker or flatbed? why / why not? , also I do not plan on leasing. Flatbed. Tankers are beasts that should be respected. Experience driving non-surging vehicles is essential and tankers will flip/roll over much easier than anything else on a newbie.
5. What months / times of months have been consistently slow at prime throughout the years? For reefer:
first 2 weeks of July and first two weeks of January. Right after Thanksgiving and Christmas.MrIT Thanks this.
