Actually, the norm is more like 3 weeks.
Every greenhorn driver smacks something (or a few somethings) their first year. Companies know it and they expect it. As long as you learn from your mistakes and the repair bills get smaller, you'll be OK. -
Thats my handiwork. It was an accident and now I'm still with prime. Sure it took me a lil while longer to get my 6 month safety hat. I actually haven't heard anything back on it since. -
You said noob? Are you a PSD noob if so your trainer can take part of the blame if your on your own for two weeks and hit it lesson learned I guess and don't worry prime will most likely have you take the smith system next time your through the yard and maybe ask you some questions . I hope you took pictures so ppl don't try to say you did more damage than you actually did. Don't worry though I hear the firing sqaud learned to shoot in Missouri your safe

Not long after I started, I had to turn around in t customers dock area to get situated. Tandems up all the way....made the U and clipped the fence...the brand new chain link one they had just put in. Didn't rip it out, but bent a post pretty good. And felt like an idiot....

Wow 3 weeks? Be still my beating heart. 3 months minimum should be the rule. I had the pleasure of training all the new guys at my job and the guys who went to the community college truck driving schools fared way better the first year. There are exceptions to the rule, some people are naturals. Just my opinion.

I clipped a 2015 trailer with a 2014 trailer on primes yard, because some idiot made his own space at the end of one of the rows...Had I been paying the attention I should have, I would have realized I needed to back out of the turn, any way All i got was a slap on the wrist from safety, and my dispatcher (but they did show me the bone saw they use to cut fingers/limbs off)
hal380 Thanks this.
