Hello everyone,
I had a question about age requirements in training.
Will Prime start the training process before I turn 21 as long as I turn 21 before the official CDL test?
I've talked to a few private trucking schools and they say they do, but with Prime's unique training regimen I wasn't sure if that was the case.
This question is probably best for a recruiter right?
Also, does anyone know if I can take the tests and get my CDL PERMIT a couple months before I turn 21, so if I sign on to prime, I'll already have it. I think I read the permits are only valid a couple months.
"All clear and have a great flight."

Pretty sure you have to be 21 for prime to take you. Can only drive a truck in your state under tha age.as for permits I would wait they are usually only good about 2 or 3 months at most.
traveljunkie94 Thanks this. -
You cannot drive OTR until 21. You should keep studying, and get your permit after your 21st birthday otherwise 1. It may expire before you have completed training 2. You will be restricted to driving within your state only. I would also look into going to a school (there are grants available), then go with Prime or whichever company you want. If you go through company sponsored training you usually have to sign an agreement to stay with them for a minimum of 1 year.

Thanks. That's what I figured.

Also we haul alcohol and I believe that's is another reason for the age requirement.

I think insurance is another reason for the age requirement of 21.
