I have one of those newfangled, highly technologically advanced features on my QC called a "DELETE" button.
It's a pretty strenuous & difficult maneuver, but I think I have it figured out.
Took months of training & conditioning of one of my fingers, but I finally acquired the ability to press that button.
I now feel confident enough to progress to the next level, and train myself to use additional fingers.
While 90% or more of those messages will not apply to my current situation, when it does, it has saved me some major headaches & TIME. That time is money in my pocket. I'll gladly push a button to get rid of a message that doesn't apply to me to be able to be informed of a situation that does, strenuous as it is.
It would be nice if messages were filtered to specific trucks in certain areas, but that is logistically impractical. One thing I have always thought would be nice, is having a separate folder/section for fleet messages. That would at least separate dispatch communications from repetitive fleet messages. But, in meantime, I think I can handle pressing a button.
As far as the fuel island hoggers, it was a message that needed to be sent. Have seen it myself on multiple occasions, other carriers included. It is the epitome of discourtesy and huge display laziness. If you are fueling, you will likely take close to 1/2hr. If you aren't fueling, park the #### rig properly, which means not in some jack spot in everybody's way. We are supposed to be professional drivers, so we need to act accordingly. This crap is one of the very few things that get to me.
Personally, I'll keep Verna in my QC. Her info has saved me money/time on several occasions. Besides, it makes me laugh sometimes, just when things are getting boring.
I wish VERNA STOPS CLUTTERING MY QC

I like the miles per gallon wind speeds, they are always worth a smile. You know it could work if the wind was blowing the right way.

You're sitting at 20 to 25 minutes right there. Don't tell me you aren't inspecting the rig while you are getting fuel...FullMetalJacket Thanks this. -

I see no "should" in there.........
I do see "likely", though.
