I don t drive for Prime, but when you quit always take the truck back to the terminal. Clean it out very well, and have the shop foreman go over it with you to make sure everything is satisfactory so that down the road Prime doesn t try to charge you for something later on. And have the shop foreman sign a statement saying that you and him went over the truck and he signed off on it. Once signed off then hand him the keys

Clean it out, best to take pictures of everything so you can dispute any claims you care to later, take the keys to the tractor shop, turn them in and tell them where it's parked. Don't expect an inspection to happen instantaneously. If you're lease, expect some charges as you are responsible for the financial costs of getting it ready to sell; your final settlement will be rather confusing because they roll all of the escrow accounts and charges against them into a final accounting, including final repairs. If your completing the lease, there should be a positive balance. If you're company, unless there is a lot of damage, just prepare to hop in your next truck.

IP, I'm actually leaving prime for home issues. And I'm company. Do they charge for cleaning?

On the company side... no. I turned in two company trucks, never heard anything about either one afterword.

IP is correct, I have turned in quite a few trucks, give maint. the keys and your good to go. If you leave on good terms you can always come back later. If you need to take a month off, you can come back, and hop right back in a truck within 59 days of departure without going through all the bs.
