CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Prime Inc. made history today Oct 7 , 2014. The company is being recognized by Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company for the largest single trailer order in Utility’s history.
Prime recently purchased a whopping 2,500 Utility 3000R reefer trailers from Utility.
“Our focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability were the major factors in this purchase. Our commitment to these principles is the pinnacle reasons for our partnership with Utility. It is a privilege to have them as a partner that understands our corporate philosophy,” said Paul Higgins, director of maintenance for Prime.
To date, Prime has purchased a total of 5,000 Utility reefer trailers.

I'm failing to see how prime is exactly making history here. But I am sure Utility is thrilled as will be their employees who will have plenty of work for the foreseeable future. I don't think the rest of us will be quite as thrilled by this news though.

Are these New trailers just a replacement for older units that need to be flipped before the loss value? It's a matter of economics. Turn the equipment after it has lost the depreciation and buy some more, a huge tax advantage by corporate america to utilize courtesy of Big Brother (the federal gov). I must admit one thing, those hillbilly's in Prime's Springfield, Mo home office sure know how to make tons of cash, Hee Haw!

    Marky84 and skellr Thank this.

The first rule of running a business is to make money. If you don't, there's no need for a rule #2.

    "2,5000"?

    Is that like eleventy hundred?

This is a depreciation calculation and a write-off avenue, not a reflection of their strength as a company. Might be a signal of the beginning of the end, actually.

Edit: And do these people even speak English?
"Our commitment to these principles is the pinnacle reasons for our partnership with Utility."
Maybe that's how it's said in Missouri...
