I wonder if sending your FM gifts with regularity would be a wise idea.. I might try to get on my FM's good side with somewhat questionable methods. Gifts or baked goods or something..

I've always found the offer of sexual favors to be effective. :D

That's a good idea. I think I'll get mine some pot brownies next time I run through CO or WA.

Hard to answer. Older truck that has had a lot of down time in last 6-8 months. Only last 2 months been running without issues.

Plus, bought a lot of stuff for truck first year out. Kind of a bad technology & electronics habit, but nearly done.

Put it this way, I disposed of all my properties before coming out & put my stuff in storage. Took early retirement. Everything is paid for, so I have no bills but for storage & cell phone. Only expenses are living on road. Could probably do more shopping than eating out, but we do tend to keep running with little time to spare.

With any luck, should be able to buy my own truck outright in 2/3 years. Just getting experience & saving more while on somebody elses dime & equipment before taking the leap.

    PEACE. ;)

Sounds as if we are of very similar minds.

I'll be looking to buy several properties scattered across country. Will be able to move around large RV at will & with seasons. Places I like the most, can throw up something more permanant.

    PEACE. ;)

Oh yeah, CO on my list as well. Have family in Pueblo whom have extensive land holdings in the mountains. Really love it up there.

Yeah Pueblo is great. And I hear the cost of living is less than most anywhere else in Colorado.. Probably because its kind of far away from the greater Denver area? I have family in Monument (near C. Springs) and I love it there when I go visit. Wildlife everywhere. They even had a bear living in their neighborhood a couple years ago.. Craziness.

Are you planning on buying several properties meaning vacant land or actual rental properties? Just curious... I own a couple rental buildings but not sure how that would work out have them scattered accross the US... Atleast if you have several in a same area you could have a property managment company do everything while you explore the US until you are ready to call it quits being OTR and then manage them yourself.

Were all of similar minds. I pay for straight talk cell phone which runs on verizons network($45/mo, love it), storage, and food i have a microwave and frige/freezer in the truck so that isnt much either. Its great my bills my are next to nothing and i save somewhere in the mid 40k's/year nowadays though my first couple years i saved 30k/yr. Check out south dakota for your residency if your thinking about full time rv'ing no state income taxes, low vehicle insurance and registration rates. Stay in a hotel for 24hrs bring the receipt to the dmv for prof of residency, and join a mail forwarding service which will give you an address. Plus south dakota welcomes rv'ers who want to use south dakota as a homebase and for their residency. If your full time in the truck now you could do this now though you would have to take into consideration that you will not be able to do this and still legally claim per deim as a deduction on your taxes. Good luck.
