Maybe I can answer why. Its all about the paycheck, not about owning, paying, being an O/O........ If you want to make a thousand a week drive a company truck. If you want the potential to make more, then go lease side..... Here is my last three weeks of numbers, no lies or bull, good numbers that will continue for a few more weeks until my trainee upgrades..... After he gets his experience, as a company driver, he can go lease and pull these numbers himself.
10/17
Miles 5,090
Gross $ 8,839
Net $ 3,948
10/10
Miles 6,081
Gross $ 9,818
Net $ 3,962
10/3
Miles 5,213
Gross $ 7,644
Net $ 2,532
The trainee makes 700 per week, that and taxes, fuel, and those high fixed costs taken from the truck and the Net is mine............
L/O preferred truck?

That's OKAY not nothing great, either you're deadheading a lot or Prime is screwing you on pay.
You shouldn't be getting 72% of $1.50 plus fuel doing reefer that's for sure
What you should be at is at least $1.75 a mile, at least loaded miles.Last edited: Oct 20, 2014
