Try getting some exercise. Even walking can help lower your blood pressure. If you can find a health food store, ask them for some Hawthorn Berry. It should help bring your BP down and without the side effects. It will take a few days. If you cannot get by a health food store, stop by a grocery store and pick up some apple vinegar. Take a couple of teaspoons with some water a couple of times a day. If you can find a Harbor Freight, they sell portable wrist BP monitors for about $15. Most drug stores sell them as well. If your blood pressure is running high, you need to get a monitor and keep it in the truck. Check it regularly.

Well if you were that healthy, you wouldn't have to take BP medicine would you ??
I don't take any kind of meds. Never have never will, and I'm just healthy so I wouldn't know what an OX looks like. I'm sure he doesn't take drugs either. Good luck.

My blood pressure has been high for the last year. The highest reading I saw was 155/105. I went to the doctor about 6 weeks ago and got a prescription for Lisinopril (10 mg). I checked my blood pressure today. It was 115/75. I have experienced no side effects. It costs $3/month. High blood pressure can damage your organs. I know a guy with kidney failure because of it.

Oh so high blood pressure can damage your organs eh? So what do you think those drugs are going to do? Cure your high blood pressure. No squire, you've still got high blood pressure but the drug you're taking is just masking the symptoms. Don't be so naive driver. You honestly think a drug/ medication is going to " cure " your ailment, or any ailment for that matter. Prescribing drugs is a very BIG business in this country. It's all about the $$$$$$$$. The healthcare industry is not out there to cure you, but to make sure you keep taking your meds. If they had their way, we would all be on these drugs. The drug companies are desperate to get their revenues up.
what you need to do is figure out what was causing your high blood pressure to start. Do your research. Get out of this crazy habit of going for the quick fix, in order to pass a DOT physical, or whatever. You need a long term solution. 155/105 is not far out of being normal. It could be a lot worse. I Know of a fellow driver who failed a random drug test because he couldn't produce a decent urine sample. He put it down to the fact that he was taking BP medication. Now he's trying to find a new job.
No matter how you dice it or slice it, there's going to be side effects whether you like it or not.
im a great believer that the body can heal itself if you give it a chance to do so, especially with high BP.
Taking some drug that the body can't recognize is not the solution. The biggest threat to your health is the healthcare industry. IMHO they have no interest in your welfare. Just get used to it.

But it's your body, not mine. FYI I'm over 61, and don't have to take anything despite doctors trying their best to get me on something. I just laugh at their antics. It will never happen, but it's all about how you look after yourself and stop believing everything that guy in the white coat tells you.
    Good luck.

One thing that can affect your BP is smoking right before they take it will raise your BP. So if you smoke no smoking 30 min to an hour before they take your BP.

Most bp meds expand your blood vessels in order to lower the pressure.

If you are on blood pressure medication, you may want to try Hawthorn Berry. It will lower blood pressure naturally without the side effects. You can buy it at most health food stores, such as Vitamin Shoppe or Vitamin World. I think doctors are much too quick to put people on medications rather than addressing the problem. Getting exercise, losing weight can both help blood pressure. White vinegar is also supposed to help lower blood pressure. I would opt for the natural remedy rather than medications.
