Does anyone know if there is a blood pressure threshold when the doctor checks you out on the Monday of orientation week? Is there a hard and fast number that will get you sent home if you exceed it?

Yep. 140/90. If either number is higher than that, you fail.

I had a physical for my med card and they gave me a 90 or 180 day card (cant remember) I told them I had white coat syndrome so they told me I could come back tomorrow so that night I started to take aspirin and took more in the morning so when I went in I was just barely within range. that was like 4 years ago. That was a quick fix for a issue I didn't have time to deal with. If you don't take BP medicine for it you might want to see your doctor. Its called the "silent Killer" Google the asprin trick, Good luck to you

Ugg, I just checked mine on a Walgreens machine and it was 147/90. Who knows how accurate that is. Great, something for me to worry about as I move out of my apartment and fly to Springfield.
If I tested over, would the fact that I have a current 2 year medical card make any difference? Probably not. -
140/90 will get you a year med card. The doc can tell you what the sliding scale is. There's a few things you should do to make sure it doesn't go through the roof.
Taking BP medication is not a great idea. For one thing it doesn't always work and like all meds, it has side affects. -
I already have a medical card, but there is a policy with Prime that I have to meet as well, and TruckerJimbo says it's below 140/90 or go home.

Spartan14...watch your diet ALL WEEKEND...blood pressure takes a while to adjust. Eat fruits, vegetables, stay away from salt, any and all processed foods(anything processed has a TON of salt in it) your real close to passing. Ask the prime docs to let you relax before taking the BP. Then close your eyes and relax. Don't think about anything. Just let you mind go blank. Good luck. BTW....I blew a 194/104 at my DOT physical....doc wanted my to go directly to the ER....now it runs about 126/78 medicated. Got a 1 year card after about a month on meds and strict diet change.
