ok here's the deal, I've been doing as much reading about leasing at prime as I am able too the last couple of days.
I'm basically trying to figure out what my fixed weekly payments would be for a 14 or 15 FL evo. I 100% plan to own the truck im leasing so I would like it to be newer with full warranty. Also how would the payments be VS a 680? I would like to have a truck that I actually love, if I'm still able to do well then that's the route Id want to take. I know that I control my fuel costs, but what else is in my control? What are some tips to keep weekly overhead low at prime? But also bring in good revenue, obviously not going home all the time, which I don't do. I'm home a few days out of each month. What's included in the weekly payment for the truck? I already have a few grand saved away for emergencies ect..and is netting 1200-1500 a week hard to see for someone that runs good and smart?
lets say i have 1 month left on my 3 year lease, what happens after the 3 years?
Id appreciate any info I can get.. I'm just trying to make the best decesion for what my long term plans are.

If you can possibly buy your own truck then do it because you're going to have a hard time making money with Prime as a L/O. And buying a truck thru them.
But I'm sure there's a few of us will give you a reality check when it comes to that outfit. Last I heard the truck payments alone were around $1000-1200 week.
Maybe some Prime drivers can fill you in on the nuances of life with Prime.
    Good luck.

Payments on my mid roof evo are about $900/week. It's actually slightly under that, but just call it $900 and be done with it.

that comes with your insurance paid, and I believe our permit/tags are taken out. You'll need to pay into a tire account, excess mileage and a couple other things, but overall it should be below $1000/week .

Be prepared for a lot of hate, since this is a new thread and on the front pages new thread list- you know that by now.

    I might skip the 680. While I agree they're great looking trucks, and they have some nice features my big issues with it are pretty simple;

I had a paccar product for a while with prime, and that mx13 was not at all a great engine, atleast when prime has it specced down like it is. A lot of issues with mine to the extent I went back to sprimo, and got an evo instead.

I would rather have the Detroit without a doubt in this instance. Also, these evos are pretty nice. It's forced me to reconsider getting my own freightliner product. Very impressed with this dd15, and eaton seems to have worked a few kinks out of their driveline as well with fld. I can't even believe I just admitted I like a freight shaker, that's pretty hilarious.

The fl is cheaper to operate, cheaper to maintain and the payment is lower. The bunk is about the same size and has more storage.

The lease is a walk away situation, just be prepare pay to have the truck detailed and make sure there is money in your tire fund.

It is entirely possible for you to hit the numbers you want, run smart and consistently hard, manage your hours well and most importantly- don't get service failures.

Oh, and the majority of what I need to do moderate maintenance on my truck is a 150 piece tool set . Saved myself two days of downtime and a chunk of change with a 7/16'th socket and a pair of needle nose on this fl. Whereas my paccar product had a lot of specialized toolings from my limited dealings with my own.

First I hate when someone answers about a company and run in down when they have never worked for the company.

Making $1,200-1,500 is pretty doable if. Payment for a 15 F/L Evo is $945 plus fixed cost which brings the total to around $1,100. Unless someone has turned in a T680 you are not going to get one as it seems will no longer be dealing with Kenworth. I was just in there and a couple lease guys tried to order new KW's and were told no.

Yeah I've been hearing that the KW and petes are in the shop way more then a FL so that's enough reason to stick with FL. What happens at the end of a 3 year lease?is there option to buy at that point?

Yes there is a lease purchase deal but I haven't looked into that yet so hopefully someone who has done that with Prime can give you the correct info on that.

    I don't drive for Prime but I do have a 2015 T680 with the Paccar MX13.

It's been in the shop once..turbo went in the 1st 1200 miles.
Since then no trouble what so ever.
Paccar pulls just as well as the DD15.
Quieter and rides better than the Cascadia.
Very comfortable all around..though could use a bit more storage inside.

Just wanted to chime in..I'm sure you will be satisfied with either truck.

    Good Luck!

I've always loved KW's but the cascadias are nice and roomy on the inside and dealerships are like walmarts pretty much. I have a question, if the payment for a 15 is 945 then all together it's around 1100 weekly is that for the entire 3 years? And if I decide to purchase it how much will I owe then?

i mentioned above the reason the MX 13 isn't doing well at prime is because they have them turned down. Credit where credit is due, it never left me on the side of the road for more than 15 mins. But Detroit did a great job with this engine.
