I will, I'm thinking of seeing about getting my orientation pushed up as my last day at my current job will be the 2nd of Jan, so going to see what i can do. But i will keep yall updated
-
A lot of people will tell to dress for cold weather and that's a good thing. Remember this though, when you are out with your instructor you will be in all kinds of climates. You could be in Easton, Maine one day and a few days later in Orlando, Florida. Be sure to pack some clothes for slightly more fair weathered places.
wawtrucker Thanks this. -
Just spoke to my recruiter and i had my orientation date changed.
I now start Jan 5th.
My current(now ex) employer decided that since i put my two weeks notice in the other day to let me go today. Sucks as i wont have two paychecks i'll have one full paycheck and about half of another paycheck that will have to tide me over. Hopefully i still will not have to use to much of the 200$ advance.
I'm looking forward to it. I still need to get my CDL permit, get a couple pair of work gloves, a good heavy duty winter jacket, some overalls/coveralls(if im going to be flatbed) and some jeans and shirts.
I'm not looking forward to the bus ride as i'm a smoker and i know i wont be able to smoke on the bus so hopefully theres some stops a long the way.bigred81 Thanks this. -
Best to ya, BRO!
Glad to hear it.
Peace

Don't have a starting date yet... but I'll be sending all my paper work in on the 5th of January have to wait for my dang college transcripts
bigred81 Thanks this. -
I wish i could fly but i can't afford it so long bus ride for myself.
I'll see yall there. I'm waiting to hear back when im supposed to get on the bus.
Im wanting to go Flatbed but from what ive heard from numerous people is that flatbed trainers are a dime and a dozen aka hard to come by so we will see.
Went bought my duffle bags today, some new sneakers, couple pair of gloves a new work winter coat, a sleeping bag(easier then a blanket) and two flashlights(just incase if i loose one). -
What if you drive out there any reimbursement for that? And if you did is there any provisions for a place to keep your car or would you have to find a storage facility while you were on the road for training?
