First I want to think everyone for the comments on a previous thread, just a question that my recruiter cant answer. I take zoloft for depression, is that a disqualifying med on a DOT physical? Recruiter just gave me a link to look at before orientation so just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks again, the info on this site is priceless.

You should be fine.Never heard of any of the depression meds showing up,but that's just my 2 cents.
Ive stated this before, I would rather see a properly medicated driver on the road, than a fruit loop
that needs it,but isn't getting any help from meds.
Im sure theres a few drivers suffering out here. -

Thanks Mark, thats very in depth on all medical issues.

I almost got turned away from FFE back in 2006. They asked if I had been on any medications in the last year and I told them I was prescribed Zoloft but hadn't taken it in a few weeks. They said that if I didn't get a medical release from my doc saying that I no longer needed the medication, they wouldn't be able to hire me. Luckily my doc faxed a release form. Most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard of in my life! Zoloft doesn't affect you like nerve or pain pills. I agree with OPUS 7. Why on earth would they want a crazy person behind the wheel rather than a happy driver??!!?

I had a similar issue with FFE about 10yrs ago. Wellbutrin.
My Doc said that the Canadian air force pilots were cleared to
Fly while taking WB.
Since then, I keep my private healthcare info private... -
First, thanks for your service. There are a lot of good reasons to be on a med like Zoloft. I think Prime's doctor will want you to show (with your doctors concurrence) that you can function well without it before he will clear you.
swamp72 Thanks this.
