Life and the choices we make, Let me start off by saying that,Let"s be onhest about it. We all cheat on our log book at times, Now we all have our own reasons why we did it, Or will do it,Really dont matter at this time, Now for all you new drivers out there, Let me say this to you, Its a given fact that it will happen to you, That just the fact of life. Now do I like doing it ? No but this is the real world out here in trucking. The reason i am saying this, Is because you need to know, The truth out here, As far for the one"s, Who are saying, Im being dishonest to you, I say this to them, You better go get your , Head checked out by a professional, Cause you are in serious denial.

If you are going to stick with Prime, logging illeagaly is already starting to become impossible.... Trucks are being converted to Paperless Logs daily, I would think that the entire fleet will be converted by years end or a year from now at the latest.

You need to get rid of the idea that driving 55 is "weak". You are not going to make it long at this company (whether a Co Driver or L/Op) if you keep your foot in the gas.

Company drivers who cant make minnimum get their trucks turned down for not making fuel bonus and then you will be forced to drive 55-58 as there is no other choice. (myself, I make bonus every week and my truck is at least governed at 63) Fuel bonus aint half bad... Ive made an extra $2k over the last 11 months.

L/O guys who get poor fuel milage by speeding are just blowing money out the stack.... thats profit.

BTW you are talking to the wrong Prime company drivers... if someone is only making 450 a week, they are either taking too many advances or doing something wrong. Ive only had one week under 700 dollars (AFTER taxes) since the end of March that wasnt a "short" week with me being at home.

Your an exception if your getting anything near that U2. Better kiss your FM next time you go to the Mill. bldg. I see them alot on the road and I'm trying to find out as much as I can so I ask them and I've yet to find one that's anywhere near $600 weekly. $900 per week leases the norm for all companies? Or is it because Prime is third party?

2 reasons why...

Fuel is one of the biggest costs a L/O can control in their day to day operations. The less a L/O pays for fuel, the more money a L/O will make.

Second, customers are demanding a certain level of conservation to justify them paying the fuel surcharge carriers are tacking on to loads.

Nope... just don't deal well with BS.

I wash myself head to toe daily. What's your excuse?

Real healthy there pony!! I didn't mean to come across as a whiner...
You do.

Quote:
I would just rather my driver drive without texting or looking at a map on the steering wheel going down the road (also types in is QC messages).
So quit whining, and say something about it to him.

I've wore earplugs even and they don't block out the noise of thunder strips.
Rumble strips...

Being very tired and Tylenol PM is the only way I can rest.
Wouldn't be taking that #### myself... you'll probably pee a hot sample in a ransom urinalysis. Check with the company doc about it before you take another one.

Like I said in my first post personally I really like this guy and we get along great most of the time. I'm just afraid I'm either going to get caught logging illegally or he's going to wreck and kill us before my training is up.
Then request a different trainer.

Quote:
As for the trucks passing us by this happens on a light load, deadhead or anytime the truck is moving. I've drove 3 trucks briefly before this (2 of them governed) but have yet to see one this weak.
Breifly... so that makes you an expert doesn't it?

Quote:
It has needed an alignment for over 2 months now as well but the guy is too tight to get one done. I think something may be mechanically wrong with his Cascadia and I know he told me it does not have the Detroit Cummings...
DETROIT DIESEL and CUMMINGS are different engine manufacturers. It's one or the other...

Quote:
...in it and problems had been reported on others like his. Is $900 weekly not high for a lease?
It is what it is. If you want to lease a new truck from Success Leasing, that's what you pay. Short term leases on older trucks run you in the $700's here. I know plenty of successful lease ops who have been making great money here...

Quote:
Or is that the norm on a third party deal such as Prime's? Thank for the input and I'm not whining just trying to see if this is the norm for Prime and their FM's in covering up illegal logging.
You'd better get some evidence if you intend on pursuing this - and probably will need to find another job as well... friendly advice.

As a company solo I tend to bring home $700 - $1k per week. But then again, I don't spend very much time at the truckstop. Also, I get a fairly good boost from the fuel bonus. It helps to have a good relationship with your FM. Whining about everything won't get you there. Neither does low fuel economy, missing appointments, service failures, citations or accidents. Or blowing a random urinalysis. Wise up BrutusK.

We're both solo company drivers on the same dispatch board - and that would be below average for me.

Tylenol PM uses Benadryl to help you sleep. I don't think anyone is going to fail a urinalysis because they took an antihistamine.

When Prime skims the profit by brokering to themselves before you get the load it kind of negates your efforts to turn much of a profit.
