No, I am not in school/training there. I am currently exploring my options. It could be that Prime might actually be more what I'm looking for in terms of training. I haven't decided yet, I need to do some more research.

MO DMV testers come to Prime's Campus Inn...

Coming with your permit gets you a night free of studying, and sitting in on classes that the orientation drivers are attending (classes that dont count in you record, only when you take them again months down the road)

Basically "filler" time while everyone else is taking their exams. you wont go to the pad until Friday, when everyone else in your class does.

Who is this guy "Big Brian Wash"? I know an Orien Wash... is "Big Brian" related to him?

Your grammar and spelling speaks to your intelligence.

If you knew anything about Prime right now, you would know there IS PLENTY of freight to go around... The struggle is in the freight rates.

You would be hard pressed to find a Prime driver that says he is sitting around too long waiting for freight right now.

Finding a driver that says he has been sitting around waiting for GOOD paying freight is pretty easy to find.

I heard of Big Brian Wash but the company that he owned wasn't Prime i think it was called the "BS Factory" and we all know what BS stand for.

Why do you feel sorry for Brian Wash's drivers?

If Brian is grown why should i worry about washing him let alone doing it at prime?

Please help me understand Trucker

Well I got my answer today when I talked to Julie my recruiter. There is a 1 year waiting list for Females right now, unless I know someone that will train me. This is so crazy, all I have ever wanted to do was drive a truck, and now it's harder to get a driving job than it was for me to be a cop.

I guess my choices are limited at this time, so instead of just picking Prime I have to try other companies To bad I don't know anyone that would train me, or if there where only more females that trained. If I ever get a job with Prime, I would train females coming in.

Being a female in this industry really hurts someone. I find this out the hard way.

Good luck to everyone that is starting Prime now, hope all works great for ya. Really think about what you are doing, don't take time and space that someone else could have used and decide it's not for you after a week. Someone else like me would have taken your place in a heart beat. Like me and a few others.

I've done 3 months worth of research, reading, talking to truckers in truckstops, etc. At this point I have narrowed my selection down to two companies. I have already been accepted at one, and even started there last week as a student in CDL class. I was, unfortunately, put on a med hold for 30 days because I was taking a prescription med they didn't like. I was actually already tapering off this med, but they want me to be completely off. I can go back to them as I had passed all the other requirements, ie, drug screen, physical, etc. Anyway, there are a few women training there now. They also have a highly rated training program. It is very lengthy, and you do it with two trainers. It's Stevens Transport in Dallas. I know for a fact they take females, and I also know for a fact that you can live anywhere in the lower 48. What I don't know is if there is a waiting list for women. If I were you I would google them and call today. I know for men there is little to no waiting to get in. Their trucks and equipment are immaculate. They have very high standards during class and training. You will learn what you need to know to be on your own. They also take teams, have a similar (and possibly even superior) lease plan that you can get into with no money down and no credit check after about 6-8 months. I was very happy with my short experience there and the people are very interested in your success. They also have a 98% pass rate on the CDL driving skills test.

I have no issue with them whatsoever, they were exactly as advertised and as I expected. The only way I wouldn't start with them is if I could get on with Prime sooner. I need the income!!

Best of luck to you. Hope I was able to help.

Lady, I am in the same spot as you. I have been trying for a couple of months to find a trainer at Prime. Like you, I would gladly take the place of someone that decided it was not for them. I have not given up, as I feel there is at least one or two trainers who would take on a female trainee. One thing to be said for myself, I am persistent...LOL. It gets frustrating when you know this is what you want to do, but every door you knock on has a "come back later" sign. Being a female trying to get started in this industry has proven to be a test of strength and determination.

I have even checked in to getting my Class B and running expedited, but you have to be team to do that, and I have nobody to do that with. Is there a chance you would be interested in doing that? If so, maybe we could team together. At least we could both be making some type of income. That is far from what I wanted to do when I started this quest, but with each passing day without a paycheck, I am willing to try about anything. Just thinking out loud here. If nothing else, it is a start, and it is still OTR, just on a smaller scale.

Anyway, I will keep my fingers crossed that you find a trainer soon and get started on your way. Good luck and best wishes.
