"New Prime" as they like to be referred to these days, is an old dog with new painted on spots. OOIDA kinda cleaned their clock a few years back, and the result of that litigation is that they now cross their "T's" and dot their "I's", and other than that, nothing has benefited those that work for them.

From what I understand, they do treat their people well, but this is not good enough in my opinion. They might be okay to work for as a company driver, but I'd advise anyone against entering into their leasing program.

Too many people have found out that hometime will be very limited, because they have crafted a lease program that will only allow you to make a decent living, if you work consistently and with little time off. Life is too short to work yourself into the ground.

If you want to lease a truck then plan on working for nothing.Once you've figured out the expenses-vs-the amount of income you're making you're actaully losing money.

Well i work for New Prime lease and i make great money

if you want to go home all the time then prime is not the
company for you but they tell you that before they hire you

most guys stay out for about 28 days then take 3 days off

but if you make your loads ontime they dont bother you

    How much money?

3 WHOLE days off a month? Wow!!! That's the kinda life I want....

You're free to consider it as you wish, but I consider it nothing short of indentured servitude, and anyone that has to work THAT hard, for THAT length of time, JUST to make a living...is not thinking clearly. I can say this
because I know that there are plenty of ways to drive a truck, and still have home life too, and yes....make a FINE living at the same time.

I will have to give you a point here. Prime is completely honest about the way they will screw you, and yet....people STILL go to work for them. The question is....why?

I ran across this just this morning. I don't know all the details and there are more than a couple of possibilities here, but it might give someone pause to wonder just how much money "New Prime" drivers make, or what they sacrifice to make it....

I seriously question anybody that keeps a small child in the truck for an extended periods of time, short trips I can understand. There is something going on with the story that is not being said but it could be more then child abuse..

I find that many Prime drivers will defend thier decision to work for Prime and some get nearly violent about it. I derive much amusement from this. I guess they are in denial.

Don't ever tell one he is not an O/O either. Makes 'em mad.
