Bill has been driving for Prime for about 2 weeks now. It seems like a good company, however so far there is a serious lack of miles. He has had 4 runs now, all Northeast including NYC which was his first time there- that's a whole other thread....
and the runs are really short, so short in fact that I believe twice he has gotten extra pay as a result, but he hasn't got a paycheck yet cuz he couldn't find a Transflo in Jersey last week in time for payday. Any Prime company drivers doing better? He is new, I know, but I hope it turns around soon. Does being dispatched out of Pittston mean mostly Northeast? It's hard to know much because at orientation they focused a LOT on lease drivers, of course and a lot of questions got unanswered. Thank you so much for any input! Be safe!

Northeast is tough right now, Ohio and Michigan too.
From my Company Driver perspective Im not too fond of the Northeast. Fortunatly I go months between my visits... when I do get up there, I get a load or two up there and then usually I get a load back out. Company drivers have no choice in the matter but it just happens to work that way for me.
Other than a load out of the Northeast, I like the french fry run from Easton Maine to Bethlehem, PA... Its good dead head and loaded miles. Drop and hook on both ends...sometimes live load and typically you are re-loaded from the same place you delivered to.
As far as transflo... its so convienent and easy to use at the truck stops but when there isnt one available, I have a scanner in the truck to use. Its a pain in the butt, but is a godsend if you dont want to wait until the next week to get paid for it.
Im beggining to see an improvement in miles... my last 3 weeks were 2200, 1700, and 3000.

I just spoke with a recruiter at Prime. I was told they have a policy that if you have been unemployed more than 5 months they cannot hire you. She said if I worked somewhere for 2 or 3 months I would then be eligible to work for them. I don't know if that only applies to those who already have a CDL or to everyone. Whether or not they hire you with a CDL also depends on where you live. Just thought I would pass on this info.
