Not sure about after PSD, but I took a week and a half after I finished up TNT.

I didn't really want to take that much time, but I live about a thousand miles from SpriMo, and we got back middle of the week so my options were hang out at the campus inn till the next week, go home for two days, or go home for a week.

Company policy for company drivers in all divisions is a minimum of 3 weeks out between home time visits. Anything less is either BS or someone pulling strings that won't be available to you. There is a small chance that you may be able to spend the odd night at home IF you just happen to luck out in timing AND happen to live within a mile of a major freight route THAT YOU LUCK OUT AND HAPPEN TO LIVE ON. Don't count on it.

Plan on being out for a minimum of 3 weeks.

As soon as you say "my recruiter said" you can usually count it out unless you get it in writing or see it in company policy.

Unless his "Fleet Manager said," I wouldn't count on it. You guys ain't got one of tbem until you're assigned your own truck.

If you're already through TNT, no clue, you'll probably have to do some more TNT to get some experience load securement and such, probably 10-15000 miles. Otherwise it's the same length training. You don't have to go through PSD with a flat bad instructor to go flatbed for TNT and onwards.

I would recommend trying to get a flatbed PSD instructor though, if you're thinking about flatbed. It'll give you a good taste of flatbed without having to commit to it.

I've often heard they'll put you through around 30 days with a flatbed trainer for securement training.

Im just finishing my psd training. I heard that its easier to get a reefer trainer for your tnt then go back and do the flatbed training...dont know how true that is
