It's for hauling "totes" of liquid that the combined total is over 1000 gal. I thought i heard someone say they (the man) got rid of that requirement recently but I haven't looked at the regulations that hard.

how is prime hometime? I know it may have been answered but too many threads to view
-
You accrue 1 home day per week out. They want you to be out 3 weeks between hometime requests, 4 days maximum at home. That doesn't include your arrival and departure days. You give your FM a week or two notice so he can get it in the system, they find you a load headed your directions, you run it, deliver, drop the trailer where they specify and bobtail to the house. Reverse order on the way out.

I was looking on the website and can't find anything on tractor requirements. Anyone have an idea of what age limit is. I have an 09 with 560k on the clock.

It's been a long time since I've posted about prime. I haven't really had to many complaints. I didn't know I had to buy equipment on the flatbed side until I was at orientation. Since I hauled refers for another company I was supposed to do 15k miles. After 10k they routed me to the terminal in Springfield and got me in a truck.
Home time is normally right as scheduled. I stopped going home every 3 weeks after the second home time. Reason being is when you go home after 3weeks the week youre home is low on miles obviously because you're parked. The week you head out is gonna be a low mile week depending on what day you are leaving because payroll. Then you'll get a good week then the end of the third week when you go home it's gonna be low again. So I opt to stay out for 6-8 weeks and go home for a week. Even in the winter I'm getting 2500+ miles a week. The summer I think I got less then 3k miles once or twice. My FM is Ben out of SLC and is great. He'll have your back if you screw up or something happens as long as you do your job.
I've had a few times when I was supposed to be home x day and got home a day or two late. It hasn't happened much but enough to make me worried because I've been recalled to the reserves and can't be late going to drill. So depending on my reserve scheduled I'm keeping my options open on companies that get you home every weekend (in writing Friday to Sunday night or Monday morning) I've found a few but hopefully my home time gets more accurate. I love it here at prime. Also prime pays a lot better then most other companies.
If I end up having to leave. Dose anyone know how much I'd get back for all my equipment or if I'd be better off taking it home and selling it?
After it was all paid off it ended up being just shy of $3,700.
If you're looking for a good company to start at or even go to after having many years off experience look into prime! They are really a great company to work for and take care of you as long as you do your job.
If you're going to be late and stop at every truck stop along the way. Then you don't need to be in trucking you need to get an rv and travel.jomar68 and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
Wow, what an informative thread. Never considered Prime before reading this. Have the A, Tanker, HazMat and even a Passport. Guess I'll have to speak to a recruiter.
