My First year with Prime

OK, I head to Greyhound tomorrow morning to head for my training in Springfield. Already not looking good. I was advised to go by and "pick up" my bus ticket early.

Well the guy at the bus station got my id, gave it back, then asked for it again and kept my id, and I forgot to get it back. Apparently they are not able to print the ticket in advance they told me. So hopefully they will have it there in the am or I'm not going anywhere...

Good news is its a small station and was only open for 1 hour for the afternoon bus and I leave out in the am, so there is a good chance its still sitting right there for me... I hope...

I'm going to try to keep a running log of my experience at least week by week if I can find wifi for the laptop. After I get caught up some on bills I'll be a mobile card for the computer.

Good fortune you Vlad. I'm very interested in signing on with Prime as well. Living here in the Phoenix metro area I've perused enough Swift and Knight posts to have a good idea of what direction I want to take. I'm able to move near any Prime terminal that would offer training, hometime and a prolific load count. Springfield was my 1st choice.

lol! He'd probably be better off if that's what happened. From what I can gather, Prime is terrible.

I think that when it does not work out, they are too embarrassed to say that they did not make it.

Like J T H said they are embarrassed to talk about it and the thing is it probley was them that failed as much as prime failed them

Prime's worked well for me for the last 3 years - so I don't know what it is with the horror stories. Somewhere along the line I think its partially the fault of the individual, because it's working well for too many of us for it to be considered a predatory company. This Vlad guy can't even manage to keep track of his ID or license - he probably is lost on Greyhound, and you don't even have to navigate! Some folks just aren't cut out to be drivers.

I think you make it what it is, you either conform to some company policies (in place for a reason most of them)or you fight them and all of a sudden your job sucks.

Some folks just aren't cut out to be drivers.[/QUOTE]I had my first day in a truck yesterday, and was told I would be doing city driving with double clutching, starting in 3rd with an empty trailer. This was a very interesting day

I know look at drivers in a whole new way...... Has anyone heard the term "puppet on a string" ???
