I'm sure they may be far from the best considering they are a starter company.. What starter company is the best tho? From what I gather, they are all about the same.. It really just depends on the person.. Some people will cry at every company they go to.. Just sayin

Quick update... Last two weeks have been pretty good. More than 2800 last week and finished the pay period tonight with the ever elusive 3000. Look, if you are new to trucking please go into it understanding it is tough work. Some runs are easier than others but if you are going to make money you are going to have to work. I don't hang out in truck stops and rarely sleep in a truck stop parking lot. I keep my truck stocked with food and eat at the shipper, receiver or a rest area. Tonight my only option was a Loves so I'll shower before I leave in the morning but otherwise I shower when I fuel. Our fuel solutions are pre-planned so there is NO REASON a driver can't get a shower!!! You will be in and out quicker if you fuel during the day, park and shower then get out.

Look, I absolutely hate driving a truck. I have other things I would much rather be doing like church planting for instance but after getting laid off from the mines I have no other choice but to put my CDL to work. My wife and kids like to have a roof over their head and food in their stomachs. So far in my second month with PTL they are providing me with that and I appreciate them for that. More updates to come.

    In Christ,

Update: This and last week have been terrible. It started with a trailer I had to take to a rebuild shop and leave because it could not be loaded. Because of that it took them a while to get another load on me. About 24 hours. Had to find me something that would get me back under another trailer. Load didn't deliver in New Jersey from Milwaukee until last night. I picked it up on Thursday afternoon. I'll end up with just under or around 2000 miles for last week. Am supposed to be headed home for Easter weekend so this week will be short. Now the folks in New Jersey can't get my trailer unloaded until tomorrow. It was due here last night. I'm not even supposed to be in the Northeast. This is an example of what happens when you are dealing with broken down equipment. It ruins your mojo every time.

    Until nest time...

see him, gird yourselves with his towel and try to wash their feet."

It happens to the best of us. Keep your head up and thanks for posting about PTL. Most people who post about PTL are one hit wonders! They, do have some nice equipment.

Quick update: I am back on the road after a five day stop at the house. Will be out 40 days this turn so we will see if it is worth it soon. I will have more than 90 days under my belt when I head home next time. Time scoots don't it? Gonna be paying extra attention to the trailers this round to see if I can discover some things that might help with the time I am losing to picking up cruddy trailers. Will let you know how it goes.

I will share this. PTL does an awesome job keeping you preplanned from one load to the next. Also, my dispatcher is absolutely awesome. Wouldn't trade her for another if you held a gun to my head. The way this company does its business and company policy is not the problem. It is the crappy trailers. You have a choice when you get one. Lose time getting it fixed or take a chance on getting CSA points. If you get it fixed you could still get CSA points later because you just missed something. YOU CANNOT BE IN A HURRY when doing a PTI with PTL's trailers. YOU HAVE GOT to look at everything.

Anyway, when I went home I was hoping to have about $2500 hundred after the bills were paid after staying out a month. We only had $1000 but we did get some garden tools and what not. We'll see what happens this time. Will keep you all up to date.

    Until next time...

This is a great thread. I appreciate you taking the time to comment on this company as there isn't much information to be found on PTL. I have a few question if you please:

What kind of truck did you end up with? Did you have to go recover it and clean it out?

Are you running all over or have you been pretty much in one region?

Do you have time to relax on runs or are the windows tight?
