Many won't agree with me, but I do think that getting a speeding ticket in a CMV makes you a dirtbag. Parking on the shoulder I agree that doesn't make a person a dirtbag.

44 seat belt violation tickets over a 24 month period? That is more than one ticket per month. Insane.

A safety dept needs to remind a PROFESSIONAL driver not to speed? to buckle their seat belt? Carry their medical card? The maintenance issues I will say are 50/50 driver and company though.

Some of the seat belt tickets can be a joke.

If you take the belt off before the officer sees it or he thinks you just put it on, you are issued a ticket.

In addition, sometimes the speeding ticket is reduced to a seat belt to not be on the driving record.

I've seen plenty of PTL drivers . They WERE dirtbags . Dressed like slobs , came strolling up to the guard shack of a chemical plant wearing a t-top , shorts , and sandals.

PTL seems to be like a company one member on here came from. If you do not do it the "PTL" way, then you are not "PTL" material. I confirmed this when I went to Swift orientation in 2011. There were two ex PTL drivers there who were told this. When I took my Greyhound to Swift in Memphis TN, there were four PTL drivers going to KY who used to drive local for food service companies. I told em they were insane to be leaving good local gigs for this company. Just sayin.

would you equate speeding as unsafe?

if you were driving 66mph in ohio 4yrs ago, that was 11mph over the speed limit, completely unsafe ditbag

2 yrs ago, without changing ONE ROAD, ohio said you can drive 65mph

if anything, driving 10mph slower than traffic was unsafe

a speeding ticket does not mean you are unsafe, nor does it make anyone a dirtbag

Calling a driver in a cmv a dirt bag that gets a speeding ticket is a bit harsh. Some only go a couple miles over and some trucker hater cop will issue them a ticket. So what do you call 4 wheelers that get speeding tickets, saints?

It's not whether or not speeding is unsafe that is a debate for other folks. In my opinion being a scofflaw in a CMV makes you a dirtbag. I don't care why you are speeding I don't care where you are speeding the limit is the limit. Do I think people who speed in a CMV should be taken out back and beaten? Of course not.

Do I speed in my personal vehicle? Yes. I don't think speeding in a personal vehicle makes a person a dirtbag as long as it's not reckless or weaving through traffic. There are people who will think I'm a dirtbag for speeding in my personal vehicle and in their eyes yes I am a dirtbag. I couldn't care less and I'm sure CMV drivers don't give a crap that I think they are dirtbags for speeding.

Bet those seatbelt tickets were in Kentucky where the company is headquartered. Easy money for the area giving the tickets. As for dirt bags, most dirt bags I've seen in trucking wore suits & ties & always pointing fingers and blaming others for their own failures or lack of scruples.
