If you have drove before you do 1 wk w/ trainer then team drive w/ another student.. If just a refresher; you do team drive w/ another refresher for needed miles.. about 3-4wks, depending on miles. Then your assigned your truck.

This has been helpful for me. I'm going to orientation the 26 of Aug. Was told I didn't have to do a refresher or anything because of driving history even though I've been out of loop for a while, Being a stay at home Dad and Full Time student. It was a tuff path trying to go back work with the employment gap.PTL was ok and seemed to understand why the big Gap. So I'm hoping it goes well.

Please tell me more if any of drivers still driving for PTL.. I am planning to joint PTL as a Lease Purchase program. Is PTL still assigning drivers enough Freight of all kinds to haul weekly? What is their Pay rate?
    Is their truck has APU?

Is their orientation quick? Do they offer DROP pay?
How Much is Health Insurance cost weekly?

    Thank you

    Hey Bill3,
I also drive for PTL. Right now I am doing my 40,000. 12,000 done. as you know by now PTL is a good company. Me and my co-driver trainee drove 4880 miles this week. All runs over 1200 miles. We have had DOT inspections and passed every one. Where drivers make their mistakes is not doing their PTI's. You don't know if you have a light out or bad tire if you don't check. I really think I am going to like driving for PTL. I drive tractor # 16241. If you see me out there give me a shout....Later dude

Is PTL worth coming to? I don't need any refresher or rookie training. I'm looking at those south and west running. As well as the extra pay for nothern running. I'd appreciate anyones word in this company. And all keep it between the mustard and mayo!!

Excellent read, Very informational especially for someone considering running for this company. However three questions, can't seem to find anywhere on here 1) Does PTL have or allow inverters? 2) Do they allow you to take the tractor home during home time? And 3) What are the trucks governed @?
