Long story but my choices for coming back into trucking are looking like Swift, Big M Transportation, or PTL. I've read PTL has pretty bad CSA scores so I'm wondering, you being a driver there, have you felt targeted by DOT and have you been pulled over on the road or at weigh stations for inspections often? I've only driven with Schneider National for 8 months, but my EZ Pass would green light me at the high majority of weigh stations, and when I did get a red light to pull into them, I NEVER once had to get a DOT inspection. Just wondering if I drive for PTL, is being targeted by police for pull-overs & inspections one of the cons of working for them? I like to run hard, and sounds like their miles can be pretty good, plus I'd love to have a truck with an APU in it.

    Hope springs eternal, doesn't it.

Those CSA scores result from violations given to drivers at PTL when they got those violations, Hard Worker. Drivers got those violation points against their CDLs and CSA totals them up and the carrier (PTL) gets a rating.

You play the PTL way, you pay.

What's your CDL look like? Tickets, accidents, background? How long out of trucking? If you've already screwed up your CDL, PTL will continue your downward spiral...

We are not targeted by DOT, or any other law enforcement. I drive for PTL and I have had only 1 DOT check and it was a level 3

Just bad advice. Alerts are targets. The way road inspections often work, they roll up in the next lane, get your DOT number. Fall back behind you, turn the red lights on because they are supposed to do that, pull over carriers targeted for increased scrutiny. A new inspection is an opportunity to bring the rate down or confirm it.

10/17/13 Driver got 45 points for air suspension, brake system leaks. OOS. Missouri.
10/16/13 Driver got 30 points for maintenance parts. OOS. Kentucky.
10/14/13 Driver got 39 points for air, brake air loss. OOS. Tennessee.
10/11/13 Driver got 39 points for defective fifth wheel, brakes. OOS. Mississippi.
10/09/13 Driver got 33 points for axle locking pin. OOS. Kansas.
10/08/13 Driver got 48 points for loose wheel fasteners, brakes, tire ply exposed. OOS. Kentucky.
10/07/13 Driver got 63 points for flat tire, brakes, grease/oil leak. OOS. Arkansas.
10/04/13 Driver got 30 points for flat tire/audible air leak. OOS. Missouri.
10/04/13 Driver got 30 points for brake air compressor. OOS. Texas.

These are just the October 2013 OOS violations 30 points and over. Nothing much to worry about here, or so says ChinaTown. Well, when DOT makes you OOS you do wait right there until problem gets fixed, now don't you, ChinaTown? Would ChinaTown steer you wrong?? PTL = Trouble.

I guess it's that old what is, is.
