For all you people who make negative statements about PTL....There are always negative reports about companies. I have noticed that usually the drivers who make these posts are the guys that the company in question fired. For all you new people wanting to know the truth about a company, go to a truck stop and ask the drivers themselves. Every company has good & bad issues. The thing is, are they working to correct the problem? I drive for PTL and can tell you this, yes, PTL at the moment has a high BASIC score in the area where the drivers are responsible. PTL has gotten rid of the bad drivers and the score is coming down. But CSA scores are based over a 24 month period. So you cant correct the score overnight. So if you are looking at PTL or any other company. Go and ask the drivers.

ok about ptl. i drive for them on their dedicated runs from tjmaxx. i lucked out on geting it cause they had a store open up in my home town so im home every week. otr guys you have to give them 5 days notice to get you home and thats if they get you home. how do i know this being dedicated. well i was otr with them for my first 2 months and they told me theres no freight going in or out of oklahoma. LIE cause i always have somthing going out after i get unloaded from my tjmaxx load within 5 minutes and when i wasnt on my 34 reset i had freight going into oklahoma. their trucks arnt in good shape nor their trailers im always haveing to fix stuff on both. and good luck getting their maint guys in memphis to fix anything. they'll tell you its ok and its nothing dot well get you for till you drive a few miles down the road and they pull you over and start writing out violations.which ive heard and seen first hand from other ptl drivers. ive had to fight with them people to get my truck fixed befor leaving that yard to get my load cause i dont drive unless that truck meets dot inspection.and for the people on here wanting to get smart and be an ### and ask "WELL MR. TRUCKER WHATS DOT REGS FOR AN INSPECTION" if you really have to ask that then you dont do a good pti and have had many violations already. youll get the miles there if you get one of the good fm's that care about keeping their drivers running. ive met other ptl drivers that come up to me and ask me how i like working for ptl the them tell me that their getting 450 to 600 mile runs on the weekends or the same kinda miles during the week that pick up on a tuesday that dont deliver till friday. well i can say i can cover 600 miles in a 10 hour day. thats not a lot of miles there. as im seeing it if you can get on their dedicated lanes youll do ok there. but unless you have a store in your home town you wont see that part of the company for at least 5 years. would i RECOMMEND ptl to someone else. no probably not. im only staying here till after till the new year them im going somewere else were they take care of their equipment and care about their drivers. but thats just me and yes i really am a driver for ptl and no i havent had any downfall with them other then getting the equipment that i drive and haul fixed. just be sure to do a really good pti everyday and DONT DRIVE THAT TRUCK IF THEIR IS SOMETHING WRONG GET IT FIXED BEFOR YOU DRIVER OFF.

I have a friend that drove for them and he said he likes PTL and everything, but I know it largely depends on you FM/DM/DBL ect. that makes a big difference, that same friend and I both worked at Schneider, and I had one of the best driver managers you could ask for, he knew me by my voice, and if I needed something he got on it quick, and I really enjoyed working there, but my friend had a different driver manager and his was the worst ive ever seen, I had his DM as weekend dispatch 1 time and I wanted to kill the guy lol so our opinions on the company were slightly different, i really don't know what to do at this point, ive looked into different company's but i just cannot figure out the best choice, that's why im on here, just trying to get some extra info

Don't trust positive PTL statements, either.

Most of them are connected to a referal bonus !! :yes2557:

well I put in my app but idk im still trying to figure out if I want to get back on the road, I mean I made plenty of mistakes my first 2 years on the road , and im hoping I cant at least put in a year with PTL to try to get my work history on track. but I live in baton rouge, LA and if I choose to go to PTL, I gotta ride a dang greyhound from here to murray,ky and that's a hell of a ride...
