PTL is treating me VERY POORLY

    I wouldn't work for that clown outfit if they paid me $2.00 a mile. Called them and recruiter was rude and ignorant so never will I grace them with my presence.

    I'd still taken the other truck being offered...that's just me though. I like working for my paychecks not sitting all the time waiting for things to be handed to me. Fight for a new truck if that is what you want. You want to get a new truck, u need to understand something, trucking companies don't give a rats ### bout you. They just care bout their bottom lines. If you make them money they will take care of you, if you sit in shop all the time and take breakdown pay and cost them money you will not be taken care of. They don't care if you were on time yesterday. Just want you to be on time today.

    So, point is, you want a new truck get off your lazy butt, take whatever is given you, make them money and don't complain and you will get one. Take it from me. When I was with Shaffer was in shop ten straight weekends. Went to terminal manager, was given 2014 freightliner with 52 miles on it. Why because I delivered when I didn't have mechanical issues, never rejected load, and showed them im willing to work. They cut you off and haven't gotten you what you want because you aren't willing to suck it up, get in a truck and deliver loads. Sorry to be harsh but that is the reality of it.

    Thanks for the perspective, I'll take that into consideration. Guess you could say I am a bit spoiled by loving my truck so much, that I didn't wanna give it up unless it was for an upgrade. But since I was doing all the same things you were doing, b4 the constant breakdowns, I was expecting an upgraded truck since May, because that's how Schneider did it. You work hard and do everything right, you get rewarded with a better truck. It makes sense. But then again PTL does a lotta stuff that makes little or no sense. And I get it, they say they care, but no they really don't!

    On a bit more positive note. The night I was frustrated and started this thread, I had driven 668 miles that day, and the following week's paycheck was for 3,827 miles which was my 2nd best week so far. The 1st best was 4,100+ but just to explain how that can even happen.. well I had an 1,800 mile run that started on a Tues and delivered on a Fri. Our weeks end on Thurs. so that 1800 mi run carried over onto the next week's check + around 2,300mi for that week = 4,100+.

    Anyway, more Truth about PTL for you.. This last Thurs Oct 9th, I finally got home after being away since Aug 12th. My truck had been red-flagged for service for I don't know how long, but they kept me running, and set it up for me to take my truck in for service at the Intl Dealer here in Columbus, GA (home). The dealer closed at 5:30pm before I got home Thurs night, so I brought it in Fri 7:30am when they opened. The issue is I've been having to do PARK'D REGENs everyday for the last 3-4 weeks, beginning a few days after I got my truck back out the shop in Missouri, when I was down 20days. Never had to do a PARK'D REGEN ever before that. They take between 25-40mins each time, so I got used to planning that into all my trips. The shop here in Columbus is saying I should get my truck back this Fri. by closing time 5:30pm.

    Telling you all this just to show you how much time has been spent in the shop since May, with this Maxxforce engine. I don't drive it all crazy and rough, btw. This week, I called in a couple times about getting routed to Murray to get a new truck, and found out the main problem is PTL is bringing in SO many new drivers twice a week at orientation, that they have more drivers than trucks, and that's what's making it so difficult to assing me a different one. I asked about getting one of the new Cascadias they're bringing in, and they said those are supposed to be going to all the drivers of the old 2011 Cascadias which are being traded in, and it'd be hard to get one to me, since mine is a '12 Prostar. And they recommend I just stay with my truck if I want to keep running (which I DO). I'll stay in my truck, since I like it anyway, as long as it runs properly. But after I comlete my 1st year here, I may move to a company that has their business together better.

    Just got a call a lil while ago from the Fleet Director, saying they have a driver who broke his foot, and his truck is in Atlanta at a Pilot, about 100 miles away that they want me to go pick up. I told him I talked to my Fleet Manager yesterday confirming that I'll wait til Friday for my truck to be done, and I was okay with it. He said that's fine and I'd definitely be able to get a load on Saturday even though its the weekend. So that was the plan, and I then I made personal plans for today thru Friday. I turned down the offer to go get that truck, which was older than mine anyway, as I didn't even know how I'd get my car back if I drove it to ATL, and then drove that other truck back down to the dealer to load my stuff. I said I'd rather wait til Friday like I'd planned, and keep my truck and all the stuff in it. He said he'd tell his boss. I thought he was the boss, but he said he has to answer to someone above him. Anyway he seemed disappointed in me that I didn't jump to the offer. So I guess I'll see what happens with all that...

    you should have jumped at the chance to be in a cascadia. i never had a problem out of one. now im with a company that only runs pro stars, i hate this truck, worst truck on the road. ive changed trucks 11 times in a year. for some of the same problems you listed. instead of sitting, turn truck in, load your #### in another truck and roll.

    just gotta say...if that isn't REAL TRUCKIN' for you.....then there ain't no such thing! WOW! I believe every word you said.....please tell me you atleast had a little dashmount fan in those summer runs! haha

    Yah this thread is old....but still pertinent.
    Appears you WERE'NT willing to work hard! The company offered you a different truck on TWO different occasions...and you turned them down TWICE.
    They did what they could to get you rolling and making money, but you stomped on your own foot.

    That's your problem. Like a spoiled rotten baby girl; you turned down trucks that would keep you rolling and in return keep your checks rolling in...but you HAD to hold out for a brand new truck. Your own fault.

    Got news for you....trucking companies tend to offer new trucks to 1). The drivers with the most seniority. 2). Drivers willing to run. Apparently, you didn't fit their criteria in either category.

    Like this post, your news is old White Dog. Apparently, you know very little, so I won't call you names. And I don't regret my choices back then, because it wouldn't have worked out better to separate from most of my stuff in the old truck, after hearing of many times when people had trouble getting it back afterwards. All of it wouldn't have fit into another driver's truck, or the company van w/ passengers in it. And why interrupt another driver's schedule to come get me like that. Would you be okay with that, if they asked you to come get me and cram all my belongings in your truck?

    Other than my breakdown time in that 2012 Prostar, you can't deny I do a good job for PTL. And since my truck was upgraded in Jan. (at 372k miles) I've had zero visits to the Intl dealers in the new one (done 70k+ miles since then). Therefore, delivering more loads, and making more money than I could in a P.O.S. truck. So it was a smart move by PTL to get me in a better truck, you see...

    Actually; I know quite a bit...just ask me. And my knowledge, as it pertains to this thread, is---you turned down two trucks at two different times, that would have gotten you moving and making money. And instead of accepting them and rolling like a professional...you decided to come to a public forum and cry about it.

    You just did. So immature and unoriginal the way you did it; it is laughable to say the least.

    Absolutely! I am not part of this new spoiled, Narcissistic generation...I am happy to help out another driver.

    How do I know that? This very thread would indicate the exact opposite.

    10,000 miles a month...not too shabby. How long before you start crying that your truck has too many miles on it?

    Ohhh yah....I see. Trust me....I see.:rolleyes:

    You're like a mosquito.. annoying. I've learned nothing from your opinions...

    It was a lot more than just being offered those older crappier trucks, that drove me to post this complaint back then.

    I would've taken this down, but it was all the truth, and better to warn others of how PTL operates b4 they sign up.
