That averages out to 2200 miles a week. Not bad for a slow economy and it being the end of the year/beginning of inventory season where freight usually sees a slow down.

Miles are down everywhere. Even Mike's getting sent home early these nights because there's just nothing to do. Hopefully it won't last long. This is always the worst month of the year, from what I hear.

It's not stupid for them because they don't make as much money with solo drivers. Anytime the trucks 24/7 they make mo money.

Well my friend, I drove for them about a year ago. I was with them for over a year. I am now at Interstate and love it there. The miles were low 1st quarter of that year also. But miles are slow everywhere. You actually getting more miles then I at times.

The biggest complaint any driver has is miles there.

The reason for the change in the training program is the fact that the trainers were only using trainees for miles and the accident ratio was high. They changed to the student with a student idea and somehow it has worked out for them pretty well. Go figure.

My thought for you is this. You need to make money. Get your time in there while you can and then think about CCC, or a like company that does have more seasoned drivers.

Interstate has just raised their req. to 3yrs min. exp and ateast one year at previous company. They are a lot more driver oriented. I would let someone know in safety that they are trying to teach you to do your logs wrong so that can be corrected. You should find that out from other drivers and not orientation.
