That averages out to 2200 miles a week. Not bad for a slow economy and it being the end of the year/beginning of inventory season where freight usually sees a slow down.

i gotta admit, if you had a choice between sni/swift/jb/werner/usx/crst/heartland/usa/covent and PTL.. id chose PTL.. i was pissed about no pay for those days and kinda upset about the miles, but i hear those guys saying there getting 1.7k thou 2.2k. and last week for me was 2.9k :)..
onlything i really hate here is only trk washes at murray. ky..we are so dirty :biggrin_2555:

ill give a good recap around 3 months of driving w/then:biggrin_2558:

Miles are down everywhere. Even Mike's getting sent home early these nights because there's just nothing to do. Hopefully it won't last long. This is always the worst month of the year, from what I hear.

It's not stupid for them because they don't make as much money with solo drivers. Anytime the trucks 24/7 they make mo money.

Well my friend, I drove for them about a year ago. I was with them for over a year. I am now at Interstate and love it there. The miles were low 1st quarter of that year also. But miles are slow everywhere. You actually getting more miles then I at times.

The biggest complaint any driver has is miles there.

The reason for the change in the training program is the fact that the trainers were only using trainees for miles and the accident ratio was high. They changed to the student with a student idea and somehow it has worked out for them pretty well. Go figure.

My thought for you is this. You need to make money. Get your time in there while you can and then think about CCC, or a like company that does have more seasoned drivers.

Interstate has just raised their req. to 3yrs min. exp and ateast one year at previous company. They are a lot more driver oriented. I would let someone know in safety that they are trying to teach you to do your logs wrong so that can be corrected. You should find that out from other drivers and not orientation.

OH! LET ME TELL YOU A STORY ABOUT THE TIME I DROPPED A LOAD IN JACKSONVILLE FL. I DISPATCHER SENDS ME A MESSEGE FOR TO RECOVER A LOAD DOWN BY DAYTONA. THIS WAS AT 1515 JUST BEFORE HE GOSE HOME FOR THE WEEKEND. SO I GO DOWN TO RECOVER THE LOAD . I´M THINKING THAT IT´S GOING NORTH AND THE OTHER TRUCK BROKE DOWN. BUT NO! THE LOAD IS TO DELIVER THAT NIGHT IN SUNRISE IN SOUTH FLORIDA!:biggrin_25510: SO I ASK THE DRIVER WHY HE´S NOT GOING TO DELIVER THE LOAD SINCE HE LIVES IN DAYTONA? HE COULD HAVE DELIVERED THE LOAD AND TOOK THE EMPTY HOME! THEY DEADHEADED ME 200 MI FROM LAREDO TO BROWNSVILLE ALL THE TIME! YOU SEE HE WAS A BUDDY OF MT DISPATCHER AND SO HE ARRANGED THE SWAP. I TOOK THE LOAD AND DELIVERED IT. THEN I SAT IN A REST AREA FOR ALMOST 3 DAYS!:biggrin_2555: AS MOST OF US KNOW S. FLORIDA IS A SWAMP AND HOT AS HELL. SO A RAN THE TRUCK TO KEEP COOL. THEY WERE READY TO FIRE ME FOR IT!:biggrin_25510: THIS IS THE KIND OF STUFF PTL DOSE TO THEIR DRIVERS!! :biggrin_25510:

WITH ALL THE TRUCKING COMPANIES OUT THERE, WHY BOTHER WITH PTL? THEY HAVE ONE OF THE WORST REPUTATIONS ON THE ROAD. WHY PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THE ABUSE, FRUSTRATION, AND STRESS OF A COMPANY THAT COULDN´T CARE LESS ABOUT YOU? THE STAFF DOSE WHAT´S EASIEST FOR THEM WITHOUT REGUARD TO HOW IT MAY AFFECT THE DRIVER, HIS FAMILY OR HIS INCOME. NO GOOD DEED GOSE UNPUNISHED AT PTL. THEY DON´T WANT TO TALK TO YOU, OR KNOW YOU. YOU ARE JUST A TRUCK NUMBER. AT PTL DRIVERS ARE TREATED LIKE THEY ARE THE ENEMY! HOW STAFF TALKS TO EACH OTHER IS SOOOOO DIFFERENT THEN HOW THEY ADDRESS DRIVERS. THEY TALK TO DRIVERS AS IF THEY ARE THE SCUM AT THE BOTTOM OF A 20 YEAR OLD DUMPSTER BEHIND A CHINESE RESTURAUNT!:biggrin_2555: THEY BOUGHT OUT OTHER COMPANIES. YET FAILED TO INVEST IN APU´S UNTIL RECENTLY!:biggrin_2552: NOE THEY EXPECT THE DRIVERS TO SUFFER FOR THEIR STUPIDITY!:biggrin_25512: DRIVERS I CAN´T STRESS THIS ENOUGH.... IF YOUR CHOICE IS BETWEEN JUMPIMG OFF A BRIDGE OR DRIVING FOR PTL.... TAKE THE BRIDGE!! IT WILL BE LESS PAINFULL!:biggrin_25510:
