I'm running out of options of companies willing to hire brand new grads who also allow pets. Going to talk to a Stevens recruiter tomorrow. Apparently they only run reefers. What's the good and bad about reefers? Anyone?
Thanks

one bad thing is, they are freaking LOUD.

Refer can be an advantage, as you have both temperature controlled freight, and it can also be a dry van....refers tend to keep moving when the dry van slows after the Christmas rush.
Down side...longer loading and longer unloading times...nature of the beast..no big deal.JustSonny Thanks this. -
You might want to look at this thread about Stevens.http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...y-here/11675-stevens-transport-dallas-tx.html
That being said, everyone has their own experiences, and you have to get a start somewhere!JustSonny Thanks this. -
u get used to them after a bit because they not loud like that you will just get used to it as you keep driving. but ok how about this, flatbed been down, van lost about 60% of their loads so that leaves reefer only thing still running because sure as hell wont have mexico ship food into the u.s. hahaha

now i no im going to risk the rath of all pet lovers every where but the fact is owners of truck do not allow pets in the truck because it cost them money.
when the ac quits you cry and moan till it get fixed and guess who has to pay , the owner of the truck not the driver even though it was his pet that caused the damage, thats why they dont want them in the truck not because thwey dont like them its all about the money they cost them.
not to mention the fact that its really unfair to the pet. you would be better served if you woried more about the job then the pet.
in these times the truck owner just cant afford the expense of the repaires.
take care and have a good ride. southernprideKabar, Donnyh, The Challenger and 1 other person Thank this. -
