Lots of talk here about LLs, panhandlers, and the like. How often do you get awakened by aggravations like these? Is it easy enough to avoid truckstops where this is a problem? I've read a lot about the day in, day out frustrations that truckers deal with and I'm confident that I can put most of them aside and go with the flow. I can accept the fact that I will have to get used to the noises that come with the territory, but, I know myself well enough to say that I'm not going to react very kindly to being awakened for no good reason. I'd rather avoid the problem as much as possible. How do I do that?

Park where no one can pull out over the front of your tractor, Park where they can't back into your Trailer, Night should be a little better then.

It's easy enough to avoid the stops where there are known "irritants"...
I've been out here with hubby for nearly 4 years, and have only had LL's bother us a couple of times.
What we get most often is the pan-handlers, and dudes selling bootleg porn DVD's. Turned all of 'em away.

But, if at all possible, stay away from the TA's in Ontario, CA. They are over-run with local LL's!

Depends on where you are. Some places are just bad to be in. On more than one occasion I have been backing in and have not even set the trailer brakes yet, and had goofballs trying to tell me their sob story and rid me of any extra cash that is weighing me down...:biggrin_25516:

Mix some toothpaste and water together, get a good froth going. When these people come up to you, demonstrate the frothing moouth thing and start screaming in tongues. No worries unless they start screaming back. Then you might be in trouble.:biggrin_2559:
