When I was searching for schools I saw that CRST was the only one that would accept 2 DUI's in a lifetime and the last one had to be at least 15 yrs back. I met that requirement. I saw that CR England goes back only 7 yrs,but they dont hire out of Florida. Was told by a couple of recruiters from training schools that having that on my record would narrow down the companies that would take me on. To this day I'm clean and sober and that the way it's going to stay. Really would appreciate any feedback from anyone of companies out there that would over go this. Thanks.

    So, check out crst...........................

Living down there may narrow your choices quite a bit.

Have you checked wil-trans, stevens, and all the other scummy companies ?

If you speak their language, there are many companies down there that can get you licensed !!!!!!!

Check all along US 27 from the palmetto northward !!!!!!

Done most of my checking on the web.Believe I applied to Stevens. As for going up and down the road I dont have the time or money to be checking local companies within Central and south Fl. Really looking to get some OTR experience and time up North &midwest then try to work my down south later on. Home is wherever I lay my head at. Thanks for the info, bro.

Dui's and the trucking is very bad thing, it's run by the insurance companies.

Well, you can pretty much rule out the "good" companies that'll get you the best OTR experience- they won't take a chance with anyone who's had 2 DUIs; If I were you, I'd be searching smaller-scale and more locally-based companies, just to see what happens.

Side note: glad to hear you've been sober for so long. DUIs really bother me (I lost my mom because of a drunk driver)- but it's nice to hear that some people out there are able to clean up and are willing to try to turn their lives around. So kudos for that.

there will be very few that would even think about hiring after 2 DUIs. alot is because of insurance companies. you would be considered a high risk, and that makes the company insurance go real high.

I had a DUI in 91 and 97, I have found many small companies that have been willing to hire me and have gone to work for a few. Here's the prob I found in that: I got caught up in the outlaw game! I did what I was told, run hard, run illegal and run unsafe.. it simply isn't worth it. If you can find just one company worth a spit that hires you, STAY WITH THEM. Don't get that chip on your shoulder and sound off on what is my own fault in the first place, like I did. So many of the companies I worked for I was already aware of what I was getting into but did so anyway. Now 16-17 jobs in a 5 year period is garbage and that's just what I got- my resume looks like hell and true to previous comments, a stand-up company wont hire me. The industry isn't "Smokey and the Bandit" any longer, not by a long shot, and outlaws are a fading breed. As well as an unwanted breed. No offense to anybody out there who can do the company thing and be a good little qualcomm robot but THAT IS WHAT "THE MAN" wants out there, not cowboys. It may not be in the cards for you my friend, but remember "life on life's terms" is what it's all about. I love being a driver, and chugging down the bigroad is what keeps the diesel in my veins flowing BUT now I take what I can take for a driving job and try to be smart about. Try using safe stats off the DOT website to screen your potential company. FIND SEVERAL OF THE PROSPECTIVE'S DRIVERS AND CHAT WITH THEM. Please don't just hop on with the first fly-by-nighter company that will take you. My hard lesson learned was that this is a CAREER and not a game-- sigh, live and learn. I am clean and sober myself and living a better way ;) tnks Bill W !

Perhaps they hire with 82 DUI's.. My God.. One is a mistake but I don't want a company hiring a clown with 2 since I run the same roads that he would.. Whoever the first person was asking about driving with 2 I really hope you never find a driving job..
