Okay so my husband's job is to safely do his job correctly and come home to me and our 4 kids.
So why is it necessary for other drivers to mess with other drivers truck?
Last night he stopped at TA off the PA turnpike for the night. So this morning he's doing his walk around and checks on top of his load to find someone threw some TA mudflips on top of his load (nope not his).
Why do other poeple have to mess with people? Why can't you drivers be or act professional?
He needs to do his job safely and come home to his family.
This was his second solo run as Class A driver....14 yrs with Class B and no one bother his truck or him, why now as a Class A, are you guys really that much of a low life...just because you are a trucker doesn't mean you have to be an #####, play nice!
Maybe your wife doesn't like having you around but I love my husband!
So knock it off and be safe and not rude.
My vent about some truckers
Why? Please explain it to me

Well first off unless there was a hidden camera around there is no way to know WHO threw what on top of his load.
So to assume it was another driver is just that an assumption, it could have been anyone.
Glad he did the walk around and avoided an issue down the road. -
truckers, private citizens and others find it humorous to mess with a trucker or his vehicle. sometimes if in a truck stop for example, someone see's a particular truck from a particular company, and just not liking that company, someone acts stupid. sometimes, its a case of "mistaken identity", as the culprit thought it "was him", cuz the truck color and such looked exactly like the one he was looking for.
unless as said, a video camera was working and taking vids of this, nothing can or will be done.
its always BEST to do a complete walk around before going into the truck stop, coming out, and waking up, then coming back out of the truck stop after a meal. i can tell you, i have walked around my rig so much at truck stops, i must have lost 100 pounds...
as even a safety precaution, every time the truck is stopped, a walk around is required. and to do it each and every time going in and coming out of the truck stop building, one can catch a problem, before getting back on the road. -
Could it have been a maint worker at the TA who found the mudflaps laying on the ground, and was too lazy to take them to a dumpster? -
Didn't mean to insult anyone, I was just venting away...
Just don't understand why anyone wheither it's another driver, general public, etc think they have the right to mess with someone else's stuff.
I hope there are far better people out there that do good and help when needed.
As my hubby has been kind to help another truckers out there already
Yes it's good habit to always do the walk around as you never know.
Once again sorry if I stepped on anyone toes, but looking out for my hubby and our family.
May we all see another day -
Might be best if Hubby didn't share this kind of stuff with you...
-
You're getting this bent outta shape over a couple mudflaps that never caused a problem??
There are scum that have been known to cut air lines, poke holes in airlines and tires, pull fifth wheel release levers, steal fuel, and even put stuff in fuel tanks.
Why?? Because some people aren't happy unless they can make others unhappy or worse.
Bottom line is there's nothing any of us can do about these type of people.
Don't you think the owner of this site gets aggravated at the amount of people who try to spam, spy, hack, or put a virus on any of the servers said owner has paid for out of his own pocket?
Granted there's a larger safety concern when people do this to trucks vs. a website, but the mentality of those people are the same.
Take a deep breath. A couple mudflaps that your husband found before he left the truck stop isn't the end of the world.BIG RIGGER Thanks this. -
i always found--especially at first--that there is some stuff that should stay on the truck , and not be brought home
family doesnt need to know how you slid down the hill sideways---or how many truck accidents you saw that week
i am sure familys worry enough when drivers are on the road
and some of the gorry details they just dont need to know -
yeah, but unless the hubby himself reads this website.........he's gonna keep on telling his wife.........either that, or she should just tell HIM not to tell her anything of insignificance.

Hun, here's the bottom line: in life; in any occupation there are jerks. It's as simple as that. Now your husband can't just let it roll off his back and so can you OR you can get upset every time a jerk does something......well.....jerky.
Frankly everytime I stop this truck and walk away from it I do another check even if all I did was stop and fuel or stop and run into the restroom. Why? Because there are jerks in the world who'll mess with my airlines or steal my light lenses simply because it says Swift on the side of my truck. Now I can run around with my panties in a twist or I can simply check my truck and know that I'm not a jerk like some people.
Part of being mature is not acting like a jerk.......but hun......another part is not REACTING to the jerks. Unless you're in the mood to post a big rant on this forum like MYSELF and many others enjoy doing on occassion.
I wish you, your husband and you children joy unspeakable!
